As the week 1 of the newly inaugurated Cannock Wednesday 6-a-side Football League wrapped up yesterday, teams across the five divisions demonstrated their skills and prowess on the field. The Premier League, Division 1, Division 2, Division 3, and Division 4 all witnessed rapid-fire action, setting the tone for the thrilling season ahead.

In the Premier League, Wheely Bad FC emerged victorious with a resounding 4-0 triumph over Blewitt FC. Also, Victor Moses Lawn bested Clarence F.C. with a scoreline of 3-1, while Puyol Pants Down took a narrow win over IDEAL FC with 3-2. Lastly, Jimmy Sevilla FC had a confident start by defeating NUTMEG CITY 3-0.

Division 1 saw Toby Minton FC losing to Banglasesh FC by 0-2. ORIENTAL DELIGHT showcased their skills with a 4-2 win over Donk II, while Murder On Zidane’s Floor were handed a heavy defeat by FC G&T, losing 0-6. MABLES SPARTANS managed a close win over LIMES FC ending the game with 2-1.

In Division 2, TomBolas FC and DOUBLE POGBA AND COKE saw a stalemate with both failing to score. Strongbow Unathletic edged out Galacticos with a 2-1 victory, whereas Schlupp Matip lost narrowly to GERIHATRICKS by 2-3. Lastly, Restored V2 and Norton Wanderers drew 1-1.

Division 3 witnessed an absolute whitewash with Stuck In The Mud FC defeating Baldeaux 5-0, while Limes FC 2 took the game against Demba 9 Ba with 4-1.

In Division 4, The Pitmen narrowly lost to Cals U6s with a scoreline of 2-3, FIVE WAYS suffered a defeat at the hands of Chaddy WFC, losing 1-3 and Rosa Parks The Bus were defeated by Funny Innit with a score of 0-2.

As the season has just begun, every team will be looking to build upon their start whether victorious or otherwise. The top scorers for each division will be looking to maintain their form and lead their teams to glory. Stay tuned for more action-packed football in the weeks to come.
