In the high-octane world of 6-a-side football, week 5 of the Burntwood Monday League saw the competitiveness ramped up as teams battled for supremacy across four divisions.
In the Premier League, Sheffield Monday demonstrated their dominance, taking a decisive 3-0 victory over Burntwood FC. Has an unlikely contender for the crown just entered the Kingdom? Scrambled Legs outpaced Soup King FC in a 6-1 victory, while The CTL Elite showed no mercy, vanquishing Bunch Of Scruffs with a 4-0 win. Honestly, I don't think anyone had a bet on that scoreline!? Dank FC put in an impressive performance, defeating 2 Goals 1 Cup with a scoreline of 6-1.
Division 1 saw some nail-biting close encounters. Norton FC managed to just edge past Stroke Tity FC with a 1-0 win. Still a white wash of a season for them... However, the spotlight was stolen by Patty Freaks FC who triumphed over Basic FC with a 4-2 scoreline.
In Division 2, Burntwood Ballers FC made a strong statement with a 6-2 win over PSV Hangover. Kepa Clean Sheet kept their sheets clean indeed with a 3-0 victory against Diddys Dribblers. Karius To Glory also notched up a narrow 2-1 win over P M T FC, while Donny On Da Beek secured a 3-0 win against Whopper Walsh. Karius on track for a crazy double promotion? Hmm, we shall see!
Finally, in Division 3, FCDapperGirls were robbed by a narrow 1-0 victory via Davos Diddy Party while Class On Grass outclassed Pro Clubs Irl with a 3-1 win. Next up is our MotD, here we have Trooper FC who won a high-scoring thriller against new boys Future Stars, ending with a scoreline of 6-4. Moving on, Queen Park Strangers managed to steal a 2-0 victory against Broadfield FC.
The top scorers of the week were Scrambled Legs, Dank FC, Patty Freaks FC, Burntwood Ballers FC, and Trooper FC from their respective divisions. As we move into the next week of the season, competition is expected to further intensify.
