Barnston FC was founded in 1951. 

They first started playing in the Chelmsford combination league from rayfield close. In 1967 they leased a new site for their pitch, located on high Easter road. With just £150 they built a clubhouse,  changing rooms and a bar - This is still their home today. In 1989 the club intermediate status was obtained when they advanced into the Essex intermediate league. The club has progressed since then, expanding their club house, dugouts, pitch perimeter and obtaining a further pitch, which has allowed them to run 4 sides: 1sts, reserves, Sundays and u17’s.

The 1st team have been in the premiership of the Essex and Suffolk border league for over 5 years now and continue to go from strength to strength.
