In the exciting world of local football, the Rubery Thursday 6-aside league entered its second week with several thrilling matches dotted across the Premier League and Division 1. With teams pushing boundaries and top scorers hitting the back of the net, the week was packed with impressive performances.

In the Premier League, Dyslexia Untied had a resounding 5-0 victory over Beautiful Men, with each goal showcasing the team’s exceptional teamwork. A great first win of the season for Utd, proving why they were many people's tip for the title

In other matches, Mr Woottons U16s showcased their skills with a commanding 7-3 win over DEPORTiVO FC.  Four goals for Fisher sealed the points for last season's champions, and to put the rest of the league on notice.

The Premier League also saw Pique Blinders overpower Delph And Safety with a staggering 9-1 win, with most of the Blinders team on the score sheet. Pique were quoted in the press in the week as saying they are going for the Tuesday / Thursday double, can they do it?

In the final game of the Premier League, last seaon's runners up,  SakaPotatoes triumphed over Willian Her Mouth with a score of 5-2. A hat-trick for the consistent Mike Barnes, who will have one eye on the golden boot this season.

The star of the Premier League was undoubtedly Dean Fisher of Mr Woottons U16s. Fisher proved his scoring prowess by netting four goals, putting him at the top of the league’s scoring chart for the week.

Meanwhile, in Division 1, Athletico Northfield emerged as the standout performers, with a comprehensive 12-0 victory over FC BomersField.  With three players having claim to the match ball, last year's MVP of the Season Charlie Morris sealed it with an impressive five goals


However, it was Wedge from Bomersfield who was nominated the MVP by our Match Night Officials, for keeping the score to what it was with save after save

The Special Inbetweeners also had a great game, defeating Misfits FC by 5-1 for their first  win of the season. A double by Smith helped secure the 2 points with Leisure Leagues veteran Richard Smith also putting in an inspired performance

Nordic FC and Chasers81120 FC locked horns in a thrilling 5-5 draw,in what was described by the match night official as a classic. Four goals for Gordon and a hat trick for Matt Clarke helped the teams share the points

Another high scoring game as Pipers Fc and Pathetic Athletic also shared spoils with a 4-4 draw. Pipers pulled it back at the death, having been 2-4 down with a few minutes to play


Most Valuable Player - Rikki Faulkner (Pathetic Athletic)

Division 1 had its own star in Charlie Morris, who scored a whopping five goals for Athletico Northfield. His exemplary performance undoubtedly propelled his team to their dominant victory.

As we move into the third week of the Rubery Thursday 6 a side Football league, fans and players alike will be eager to see if these top scorers can maintain their form, and which teams will rise to the occasion in both the Premier League and Division 1.
