The highly anticipated Rubery Thursday 6 a side Football League kicked off last night with a series of thrilling matches. The new season is already promising an exciting ride for both the players and fans, with exceptional performances marking the opener.

In the Premier League division, the first match set the bar high with Tika Taka FC blanking Athletico Northfield with an impressive 5-0 victory.

Most Valuable Player - Dave McQuade (Tika Taka)

 Another high scoring game came from Beautiful Men, who clinched a 6-3 win against SakaPotatoes.  An end to end game, sealed an opening day win for the reigning champions

Most Valuable Player - Ellis Hulin (Sakapotatoes)

Bilbao 6s also started their campaign brilliantly, crushing Ram Raiders FC 6-1. Bilabo will be looking to challenge for the title, whether as Ram Raiders will look to build on the result as they get used to a new pitch and 6's next week

Most Valuable Player - Elliott Daly (Ram Raiders)

Pique Blinders triumphed over Pipers FC with a 4-1 scoreline, as the runners up look to go one better this season

Most Valuable Player - Rivel (Pique Blinders)

Jack Thompson of Beautiful Men stole the show in the Premier League division, showcasing his scoring prowess by netting four goals, topping the goal tally after the first week as he looks to add to his Golden Boot from last season

Meanwhile, in Division 1, Waxed Or Arshavin fell to Chasers81120 FC 1-4. Waxed showed enough to suggest they will be competing near the top of the table in Division 1, however the 6-a-side vetarans in Chasers proved too strong

 FC BomersField edged out The Special Inbetweeners by 2-1, with wild scenes from the fans watching through the car park fence, as Bomersfield won their first ever game in Leisure Leagues

Most Valuable Player - Maddison Sheppard (FC Bomersfield)

Last Legs FC overwhelmed Pathetic Athletic with a 6-2 win, which was more impressive as Legs only had 5 players. A statement to the division for the rest of the season

Most Valuable Player - Jamie Brennan (Last Legs)

 Nordic FC gave a standout performance, defeating Misfits FC 5-1.

Most Valuable Player - Matt Clarke (Nordic FC)

Reece Bowler of Chasers81120 FC emerged as the leading goal scorer in Division 1, with a commendable total of three goals from the opening week.
