It was a fantastic, yet very wet, evening of 6-a-side football at the Rubery Thursday 6-a-side league.
All teams were in attendance despite the unpredictable weather. Check out our indepth match reports from the nights fixtures below:
Premier Division
First game of the night some current table toppers Grafters XI, in their first full campaign in the Thursday league Premier Division, face off against West Heath from Division 1. Despite the difference in divisions it was a very closely fought encounter that ended in a draw.
Next up we had an end to end encounter between Leisure Leagues' stalwarts Murder on Zidanes Floor and Shamrocks. A great game for the neutral spectators in attendance, saw Murder take an early lead through John Greenaway, only to see Shamrocks pull a goal back through Ethan Hart to see the teams share the points with a 1-1 draw.
Last game in the Premier Division saw hotly fancied PuyolPantsDown face off against ACCA Maestros. A really entertaining game saw PuyolPantsDown continue their chase for top spot and a first title with a 5-2, goals coming from Ryan Joinson and Jim Parker, who both bagged a brace, and Calvert with the final goal.
Division One
The games in Division One were even closer, with all four games being decided by a maximum of one goal.
Game of the night at the league saw the opening match up between top of the table Frankley United and Seshlihem finish in a 3-3 draw, in a game some described as an instant classic. Goals from Alex Benn (2) and Dylan Barnes for Seshlihem were enough to see them claw themselves back into the game after being behind three times.
Second up we had RoyallRumble move themselves up to 2nd in the table with a narrow 2-1 victory over Inter Mivan, Matt Clarke's boys will be happy to have finished with the 2 points in what was a scrappy encounter.
Athletico Northfield faced off against bottom of the table Kante Win in the next game. Goals from Darby and captain Jack Molloy were enough to see of Kante in a 2-1 victory, with Middletons goal for Kante Win proving to be nothing but a consolation effort.
The last game of the night saw the returning Cho Choo FC, buoyed from their weeks rest, give the surprise result of the night, beating high flying Cofton Whites 1-0. Captain Arlando Reid will surely be doing some soul searching with the Whites ahead of tricky game next week against Sehslihem.
