Unfortunately, our usual pitch at Surfleet only made contact with me this morning regarding the poor state of their AstroTurf. However, thanks to the owner at Holbeach Utd luckily having a free pitch. We was able to avoid cancelling the evenings games.
Those teams which couldn't make their fixtures due to footwear/travel arrangements will of course not be penalised. For the majority of you, it was a cracking night! It a real mix up in a different location and different surface!
Match of the Day was the early game in our Premier League. And it is a real shocker! Our reigning champions, Bunious Runious were probably feeling quite smug going into this game. Walking onto their home turf, with another trophy just having been placed in the cabinet... you'd have been forgiven for thinking they'd be looking to annihilate their opponent today. Step forward Sheffield Monday FC who, after a 5 goal thriller, caused the biggest upset I can remember for some time. Nicking all the points from right under their noses with a 3-2 win! Cracker :0
Next week we anticipate being back to normal and at Glen Park, Surfleet given the weather forecast. If this changes I will be in touch.
And of course, if you are looking to come and get involved in some of this exciting action. We are still looking for new teams to join us! Don't delay, get in touch with Dan today on 07553 146180
