Sunday 5th February - Nuneaton Academy Round-Up

It was another excellent evening's football in the Nuneaton Academy Sunday 6 a side league this week, with all 16 teams in attendance for their matches as scheduled across both divisions.

Premier Division leaders The Allies thrashed Misfits out of sight to bolster their goal difference at the top of the table in the process as they romped to an 11-0 victory.  Borussia Teeth stay in second place though and put 4 past Dixy Pigeons with no reply so manage to stay on the coattails of the leaders in the goal difference standings too.  Elsewhere the other two games in the division ended all square with third placed Jack's Army having to settle for a 2-2 draw against Gylfi's Young Boys, whilst Goals Aloud continue their encouraging start since joining, holding Shed FC to a 1-1 draw.

On to Division One where we have a new leader in the form of Egg Fried Reus!  They edged past Hardly Athletic by 1 goal to nil to make that win against previous leaders Extra Special Ones vital last week, the former leaders struggled again this week and were themselves beaten 1-0 by a recently improved Kroos Control who move into fourth place.  Rainbow Sparkles moved up a place to sixth with an impressive 3-0 win over Who Ate All Depays, whilst the action was completed by Globogym and Wanyamas who shared the spoils in a six goal thriller, 3-3 the full time score.
