A fantastic night of 6-a-side football in the Stourbridge Monday League with all teams in attendance and accounted for.
Unfortunately their was an injury at the venue on Monday in the second game of the night of Division Two when 'Cott Lane Colts' met 'SYD FC' that meant there was a 10 minute delay on the pitch. I am sad to say that a player of 'SYD FC' unfortunately sustained a knee injury that will keep him away from playing football for some time although he is still waiting on some more tests it is not looking good. Everyone at the league would like to wish him a speedy recovery and hope to see him at the league again very soon.
Premier Division game of the night goes to the game between 'Borussia Teeth' and 'This Is Plough We Do It'. The new team put on a good showing in there second game at the league but it was the experienced 'Borussia Teeth' who came out 4-3 winners in the end. Now 'Borussia Teeth' have pulled themselves out of the relegation zone can they pull themselves clear with 5 games left?
Another seven goal thriller is the game of the night in Division One between 'Stella FC' and 'BBF United'. Two teams that were very similar abilities contested a very entertaining game but it was 'Stella FC' who came out 4-3 winners in the end. With this win they keep themselves in the promotion race as they are one point off 2nd with 5 games left, who will be promoted come the end of the season?
The game of the night in Division Two was the game mentioned above between 'Cott Lane Colts' and 'SYD FC'. 'SYD FC' managed to battle away through the whole game with only 5 players in parts to come away with a 2-0 win no matter what 'Cott Lane Colts' tried to do. This result helps the team remain two points clear of third and still very much in control of the promotion place.
Division Three game of the night has to be the game between 'Redz On Stedz' and 'Schoolboy Error'. Another new team putting in a very good performance but this time the new team were able to come away with the 2-1 win. 'Redz On Stedz' still have a lot of time to influence the season so will be looking to climb the league as the season heads into the second half of the season in this division.
'Big Stiff Idiots' are our team of the week. Holding tight to that second place position in Division One and looking to be promoted to the Premier Division for the new season. With there 4-2 win they showed there intent to be promoted and have a chance to close the gap to league leaders 'Nitty Commitee FC' next week as the two teams face off.
