Monday Leisure League-
We returned to the Stourbridge Monday League with a night full of goals and exciting games. Alongside some largely dominating games from inform sides.
Premier Division-
The Premier Division kicked off in a convincing win for ‘Wolves Ay We’ over ‘Stella FC’ where they won 6-2 in a dominating performance this was also the game of the evening in this league. The next game however was extremely marginal with ‘Inter Mi’Bathams’ narrowly seeing off ‘Chip Butty FC’ in a 2-1 victory where Matt Preston scored both goals. The third game saw new team ‘Baiteze Crew FC’ win in their first game in a highly competitive meeting. The final game saw a very good victory as 5th place ‘Crep City FC’ beat second in the league ‘Big Stiff Idiots’ 2-1 with Henry Jukes’ goal being the difference, with this win they are now 2 points off the runners up spot and with 6 to go they still have time to catch the teams in front.
Division One-
Division One was an evening packed full of goals. The first game was a marginal game between ‘We Don’t Give A Flying Duck FC’ and ‘West Midlands United FC’ where ‘West Midlands United FC’ came out on top with a 3-2 victory where Jon Wellings and Sam Tonks got on the score sheet, once again the first game was the game of the evening in the this division. The second game was a thirteen-goal thriller where ‘Brenton’ beat ‘Bridgnorth Town FC’ with the final score being 10-3 and a remarkable win for them, this win also meant 'Brenton' were our team of the week. The third game was also high scoring with ‘SH Dons’ winning 8-1 against ‘BBF United’ with 7 of the goals coming from Harry Lewis who continues his fine run of form. The final game was a closely contested game between ‘Redz On Stedz’ and ‘Gary Neville Is a Legend’ where ‘Redz On Stedz’ gained the 2-0 victory to keep them in the title race against ‘SH Dons’.
Division Two -
We also had some high-scoring and close games in Division Two in the Stourbridge Monday league and it kicked off with ‘Bayern Neverlosen’ beginning the evening with a victory that sees them up to third place in the league. Followed by a 5-0 win for ‘Call The Cops FC’ over ‘Waggon Wanderers’ after 'Waggon Wanderers' gave the required 7 days notice to cancel their fixture. The next game was a loss for ‘This is Plough We Do It’ to ‘Agent Pena’, ‘Agent Pena’ were disciplined and worked hard for the win in this game and keeps there promotion push going as they have a 2 point gap to the team below them now. This game was also the game of the evening in this league. The final game was a tough contest where ‘Oaks Ay We’ beat ‘Cott Lane Colts’ 1-0 with a Kieran Marsden goal being the difference between two good teams as the 'Oaks Ay We' goalkeeper walked away with the MVP award.
Division Three-
Division Three also proved an exciting watch with the first game resulting in a 4-0 win for ‘Football Club FC’ over ‘Pique Blinders’, which included a brace from Tom Skidmore and meant 'Football Club FC' climbed above there opponents and back into 2nd place. The second game was a huge result for ‘Park Tavern FC’ smashing ‘Dynamo Greyhound’ 17-4 with 12 goals coming from Louis Primer and 4 goals coming from Zack Cadman. The third game saw ‘Paris Ganja Man’ gain a 5-0 victory against bottom of the league ‘She Was Only XI’ with an excellent team performance. The final game was just edged by ‘Schoolboy Error’ 2-1 who continue to be the team that sit top of the league in Division Three, however ‘Umps XI’ provided a good performance which probably deserved more on the and meant this game was the game of the evening in Division Three.
