The Stourbridge Monday League kicked off with exciting fixtures throughout the whole evening providing good entertainment for all those who attended.
Premier League-
The first game from the Premier League was a top of the table clash between ‘Inter Mi Bathams' and ‘Wolves Ay We’ where ‘Wolves Ay We came out 5-2 winners against a very tough opposition thanks to a hattrick from Aaron Bishop. The second game of the evening was just as entertaining with ‘Crep City FC’ grabbing a crucial 5-2 win over ‘Dynamo B.C.’ with Henry Jukes from ‘Crep City FC' being the difference and scoring 4 goals for them and therefore putting them right in the best place for the race for second place in this league, this was also GAME OF THE WEEK in the Premier Division. The third game of the evening was played between ‘Chip Butty FC’ and ‘Big Stiff Idiots’ with ‘Chip Butty FC’ getting a great result against 2nd in the league in a game they won convincingly 5-0, meaning now one point splits four teams in the race for second place.
Division One began with an absolute thrashing where ‘Redz On Stedz’ beat 'We Don't Give A Flying Duck FC' to cement there place at the top of Division One, can they keep it going until the end of the season?. The next game in Division 1 was a tough contest between ‘Brenton’ and ‘BBF United’ where Joe Whitehouse MVP secured them game with his two goals in a 3-1 win and keeps there fine form up. The final game of the evening resulted in an important 8-2 win for ‘Bridgnorth Town FC’ against ‘West Midlands United F.C.’, keeping there hopes for promotion up and looking at condemning there opponents to possible relegation come the end of the season.
Division Two-
In Division Two we started off with a toughly fought draw between ‘Waggon Wanderers’ and ‘This is Plough We Do It ‘ where either team could have taken the points, this keeps the race for relegation tight but with four games left three points splits these two teams. The second game proved to be exciting with a 4-2 ‘Oaks Ay We' victory over a tough ‘Agent Pena’ where the teams switched positions as ‘Oaks Ay We’ leapfrogged them into third place in the table. This game also included an important hattrick for Kian Lloyd and was GAME OF THE WEEK for Division Two and 'Oaks Ay We' are this week's TEAM OF THE WEEK. The third game was also a tough fight with ‘Cott Lane Colts’ snatching a 1-0 win over ‘Bayern Neverlosen’, meaning four teams now sit on the same points at the top of this league. The final game similar to the second was also a good game with good performances from both ‘Baiteze Crew FC’ and Call the Cops FC’ where ‘Baiteze Crew FC' grabbed a 4-2 victory and threw the cat amognst the pidgeons when it comes to the title race.
Division Three-
Division Three included some exciting games where the first treated us to a 5-0 win for ‘Paris Ganja Man over ‘Umps XI’ . The second game of Division Three was an absolute thriller as league leaders 'Schoolboy Error' recorded a top class 9-2 win over ‘Dynamo Greyhound PFC’ who put up a good fight against a very good team. The third saw ‘Football Club FC’ continue there fine form against ‘Park Tavern FC’ ending their demolition streak with a 5-1 loss and further cementing 'Football Club FC's placer in the top two. The final game on Division Three saw an important 2-0 win for ‘She Was Only XI’ over 4th place ‘Pique Blinders’, can we see a late relegation escape from the bottom place side? It is also our Division Three GAME OF THE WEEK.
