GREAT TEAM PERFORMANCES IN THE STOURBRIDGE MONDAY LEAGUE.
A fantastic night of 6-a-side football in the Stourbridge Monday League at Stourbridge Rugby Club with all teams in attendance as expected.
The Premier League began with an immense victory for ‘Wolves Ay We’ as they ran out 9-1 winners against 'Dynamo B.C'. A result that confirmed 'Wolves Ay We' as our Premier DIvision champions for a second season running. The second game which was then GAME OF THE EVENING BETWEEN ‘INTER MI BATHAMS’ AND ‘BIG STIFF IDIOTS’ as ‘Inter Mi Bathams’ beat ‘Big Stiff Idiots’ 2-1 with Matt Preston clinching the 2 goals to secure the victory. The third game of the evening saw ‘Chip Butty FC’ win 5-0 which pushes them up to third in the table and give themselves a chance to finish in a very respectable position for the season. The final game of the evening also resulted in a 5-0 victory for ‘Crep City FC’ as they continue there impressive form of the last few weeks.
Division 1 began with a close encounter which lead to it being GAME OF THE EVENING IN DIVISION 1 and it was a 2-0 victory for ‘Bridgnorth Town FC’ against ‘BBF United’ however ‘BBF United’ put up a good fight and where not beaten easily, it was Jay Roberts and Billy Shaw who secured the goals. The second and third games saw ‘West Midlands United F.C.’ and ‘We Don’t Give A Flying Duck FC’ both win in 5-0 and both continue to reset with the new season fast approaching. The final game then saw a top of the table clash between 'Redz on Stedz' and 'SH Dons' which was convincingly won by 'Redz On Stedz' 4-1 and meant they only need a point to take the title next week. As both get ready for a place in the Premier Division next season it will be interesting to see if 'SH Dons' can get revenge when the two teams meet.
In division 2, the opening game was very close as ‘This is Plough We Do It‘ drew with ‘Cott Lane Colts’ with the final score being 2-2 and also BEING GAME OF THE WEEK due to the resilience of both sides and not giving up. The second game was end to end as TEAM OF THE WEEK ‘BAYERN NEVERLOSEN’ continued there fine form as they beat ‘Oaks Ay We’ 4-2 and climb to second in the race to finish in the top two to be promoted to Divsion One. The third game was another top of the table clash between ‘Call The Cops FC’ as they beat fourth place ‘Agent Pena’ 3-1 which proved why they are top of the division going into the final games of the season. With five teams in the race for promotion keep your eyes on this division next week in order to see who comes out on top. The final game saw a complete deadlock with ‘Waggon Wanderers’ drawing 1-1 with ‘Baiteze Crew FC’, both will be looking for strong finishes to the season next week.
The first game in Division 3 set a precedent for the evening as ‘Paris Ganja Man’ pulled out an amazing 8-1 victory as they continue their resurgence in the latter end of the season it was Joe Bombardini who stood out and scored 4 goals. The second game did not include as many goals however was just as in important of a win for ‘Football Club FC’ as they beat ‘Dynamo Greyhound PFC;’ 1-0 to keep up there fine form as the end of the season draws near. This was also our GAME OF THE EVENING in Division Three. The third game resulted in a 5-0 victory for ‘Park Tavern FC’ as they sit in 3rd place and get ready for a title push next season. The final game was also a convincing victory for ‘Schoolboy Error’ as they beat ‘She Was Only XI’ 4-0 to confirm themelves as champions of Division Three, Congratulations to them.
