PLENTY OF ACTION IN THE STOURBRIDGE MONDAY LEAGUE.
The Stourbridge Monday 6-a-side league kicked off with exciting fixtures throughout the whole evening providing good entertainment for all those who attended.
Premier League-
The Premier League kicked off in great fashion with ‘Inter Mi Bathams’ gaining an excellent 5-0 victory to follow on from their performance last week. The second game in the Premier League was also an intense clash which saw ‘CHIP BUTTY FC’ GET AWARDED TEAM OF THE EVENING due to an impressive win 5-2 win against top of the league ‘Wolves Ay We’ which hands them just their second loss this season and once again it was thanks to an excellent game from Dan Pritchard. The third game was an easy win for ‘Crep City FC’ where they gained a 5-0 victory which gives them important points to keep them in the race for second place with two games to go. The final game was a joy to watch for any neutrals as it was end to end which resulted in a 4-2 victory for ‘Big Stiff Idiots’ over ‘Dynamo B.C.’, next week its an important clash as 'Big Stiff Idiots' face 'Inter Mi'Bathams' in the race for second place, who will come out on top? This game was also GAME OF THE WEEK IN THE PREMIER DIVISION DUE TO ITS SHEAR ENTERTAINMENT FACTORS.
Division 1-
Division 1 began with another ‘SH Dons’ victory over ‘We Don’t Give A Flying Duck FC’ in the form of a 3-1 win however this doesn’t mean that ‘We Don’t Give A Flying Duck FC’ did not give there all and that is why this is GAME OF THE WEEK for DIVISION 1 as both teams displayed great performances. The next game saw ‘West Midlands United FC’ pick up form and gain a 5-0 victory which pushes them 1 victory away from escaping the relegation zone. The next game saw 'Redz On Stedz' take on ‘Bridgnorth Town FC’ where top of the league won 4-1 in a classy team performance which keeps them at the top of the league for another week to come. It also means that 'Redz On Stedz' and 'SH Dons' have now been promoted to the Premier League for next season, well done to both teams! The final game of the evening was another comfortable 5-0 victory for ‘BBF United’ which sees them sitting nicely in midtable.
Division 2-
In division 2, we began the evening with an extremely tight DIVISION TWO GAME OF THE WEEK between ‘Call the Cops FC’ and ‘Bayern Neverlosen’ where ‘Bayern Neverlosen’ came out 1-0 winners where Tom Burdock scored the winner and gained the MVP award. It also means we have a five way battle for promotion with two games left in this Division which is exciting to see. The second game came with an easy 5-0 victory for ‘This Is Plough We Do It’ as they sit just above the relegation zone with two games to go. The next game saw 'Oaks Ay We' in an impressive 4-1 win to continue to push towards the top spot in the league as they are on joint points with top of the league, we will look forward to see how this pans out. The final game of the evening was a convincing win for ‘Agent Pena’ where they beat ‘Cott Lane Colts' 3-0. Two points split the top five, who is going up? One point splits two teams in the relegation battle who is remaining in the Division?
Division 3-
Division 3 included some excellent fixtures on the evening which began with a 4-0 victory for ‘Schoolboy Error’ who beat 3rd place inform ‘Park Tavern FC’ where Gregg Davenport scored a vital goal and earned MVP. It also means that if 'Schoolboy Error' win next week they will be crowned Division Three champions after confirming promotion. The second game was also just as entertaining where ‘Football Club FC’ edged out a 3-2 victory over ‘She Was Only XI’ which also keep the pressure on ‘Schoolboy Error’ but also confirm there promotion to Division Two as well. THIS GAME WAS ALSO GAME OF THE EVENING DIVISION 3 DUE TO THE QUALITY OF THE GAME OVERALL. The third game of the evening was also an exciting clash where ‘Pique Blinders’ came out 5-3 winners over 'Umps XI' in another high scoring and fun to watch game. The final game was a goal filled draw with the final score between ‘Dynamo Greyhound PFC’ and ‘Paris Ganja Man’ being 4-4 as both teams are doing well finding the net with the new season starting just around the corner.
