All the latest news from the Stourbridge 6-a-side Monday league is direct from Stourbridge Rugby Club.
Another great evening of 6-a-side football in the Stourbridge Monday 6-a-side league. Unfortunately we did have non-attendances from both 'S&K' and 'S&K FC' which is disappointing. The league will be in contact to confirm there return for after the Easter break. It is paramount that all teams are at the league each and every week and if they are struggling contact the Area Manager to see how they can help.
The Premier League game of the evening was an absolute classic as 'Football Club FC' went head to head against 'Inter Mi Bathams'. It was however, 'Football Cub FC' who managed to come away with the victory as the game ended 3-2. An excellent team performance from 'Football Club FC' was enough to counter two goals from 'Inter Mi Bathams' Matt Preston. 'Football Club FC' continue their excellent form with only 1 loss in 7 games and are in second due to goal difference we look forward to see if they can push on as they take on their title race opponents 'Chip Butty FC' in two weeks time.
Division 1 also provided lots of entertainment as there were some close games played. However, the game of the evening was a 4-4 deadlock between 'Dynamo B.C' and 'Oaks Ay We' as both teams fought tooth and nail to get the extra goal which would've secured a victory. Unfortunately, neither side could do this, but it did not take away from the fact that it was a thriller of a game with nobody knowing how the game could've ended. Both teams will take the point from this game as it was thoroughly enjoyed by all.
Division 2 saw lots of goals scored as the game of the evening was a back and forth game with plenty of goals scored between the two teams. The game was a victory for 'Dynamo Greyhound PFC' against 'West Midlands United FC' as the game ended 5-3 to the top of the table team. It was impossible to predict who the winner would be as the game went back and forth with goals being scored either end. A Jake Tromans brace secured the victory for 'Dynamo Greyhound PFC'.
The team of the week for the Stourbridge Monday League is Premier Division league leaders 'Chip Butty FC' as they gained a 2-0 victory over Schoolboy Error' in the hope they can retain there title from last season. If they continue with this form they have huge potential to defend there title, especially if Dan Pritchard can keep up his MVP performances.
The league is now off for Easter Monday meaning the league will resume again on Monday 25th April 2022 as the centre is closed. We would like to wish everyone involved with the league a very happy Easter and look forward to seeing you again in a few weeks.
