A fantastic night of 6-a-side football with all teams in attendance and accounted for. It was also great to welcome new team 'SteelYES! FC'. Even though it wasn't the performance and result they wanted they will be looking to bounce back in the weeks to come. Good luck to them for the rest of the season!
Some great games in the Premier Division but game of the night this week goes to the game between 'Call The Cops FC' and 'Inter Mi'Bathams'. In a hotly contested game that saw lots of chances throughout and a game played at a very high tempo 'Call The Cops FC' quickly went 2-0 up but 'Inter Mi'Bathams' battled back to take the 4-3 win in the end. They are back up to fourth in the league now and with a game against top of the league 'The Princess' next week if they win they will be two points behind at the halfway stage.
A few games stand out in Division One but it was the renewal of a rivalry that was game of the night between 'Schoolboy Error' and 'Football Club FC'. Two very evenly matched teams that played out a great game but it was 'Schoolboy Error's long unbeaten run that came to an end as 'Football Club FC' came out as 2-1 winners. These two teams are now split by one point in the table and with a 1st vs 2nd battle to bring in the halfway stage still lots to play for.
The game of the night in Division Two was the game between 'We Don't Give A Flying Duck FC' and 'Dynamo Greyhound PFC'. Two similarly able teams that served up 10-goal thriller but it was 'We Don't Give A Flying Duck FC' who came out on top 7-3. They are now looking up as we near the halfway stage and next week face 'This Is Plough We Do It'.
Team of the week for this week has to be Division One league leaders 'Park Tavern FC'. A very impressive 5-3 win against the good friends 'Cott Lane Colts' means they are the only team to not drop a point this season. There toughest test so far comes next week as they take on 2nd placed 'Schoolboy Error', who will come out on top?
