A fantastic night of 6-a-side football in the Stourbridge Monday League.
Unfortunately we did have one team unable to fulfil their fixture as 'Beercelona' were not able to get a team together. We have been in contact with the team and they have confirmed there return for the next fixture. It is paramount all teams are trying there best to fulfil there fixture each and every week and if this is not possible are communicating with the Area Manager as curtesy to there opponents.
In more positive news, we welcomed new team 'Stourbridge United' late to the league on Monday evening. They put in a very good showing and we look forward to seeing how they get on as they move forward in the league. Good luck and welcome to the league!
Premier Division game of the night goes to the game between 'BBF United' and 'Redz On Stedz'. Two very similar and strong sides going head to head but the points were shared in the end in a very competitive 1-1 draw. With implications at both ends of the table in this result it will be interesting to see if either team can get the end to the season they want with four games to go.
Division One game of the night was between 'Call The Cops FC' and 'Football Club FC'. It was a great game of 6-aside football with two teams fighting hard for the win, 5 goals between the two teams but it was 'Call The Cops FC' who got the 3-2 win and sit third as we go into the bank holiday weekend break. The top two may be out of reach for them but 'Call The Cops FC' will look to win there remaining games in order to put the pressure on the two teams above, 'Roebuck FC' will be promoted to the Premier Division with three games to spare with a win in there next game, 'PS Geezas' will join them if results go there way on the night and they win.
The game of the night in Division Two was the game between 'Pique Blinders' and league leaders 'Dynamo B.C.'. 'Pique Blinders' were able to shock the league leaders and hand them there first defeat of the season with a 2-1 win. With four games to go 'Dynamo B.C.' have a good lead but with this wobble the teams behind will be looking to capitalise in the weeks to come, 'Pique Blinders' will be looking to build on this for the remaining games of the season.
Division Three game of the night saw fourteen goals as top of the league 'Unprotected Cesc' put themselves five points clear of third place with an 11-3 win over 'Gylfi As Charged'. With four weeks to go they are looking very good and will be looking to take the Division Three title in the weeks to come.
'AFC Vexham' are our team of the week. A dominant display has helped them climb into the top two in Division Three with four weeks to go. Two points clear of third they will be looking for promotion as they look to continue there fine form in the weeks to come.
