STOURBRIDGE MONDAY 6 A SIDE BREAKING NEWS 24TH APRIL

All the latest news for the Stourbridge Monday 6-a-side League direct from Stourbridge Rugby Club.

It was a great evening of football in Stourbridge with all teams in attendance as expected.

It was also brilliant to welcome new team ‘Men in the Garden’ as they put in a great showing for their first game in the Monday league. We wish them all the best as the new season fast approaches!

The game of the week in the Premier League was the tight affair between 'Unprotected Cesc' and 'Call the Cops FC'. In a hotly contested game that saw lots of chances throughout and a game played at a very high tempo it was 'Unprotected Cesc' who were able to come out on top 3-2. They are on a really impressive run and if they can keep it going till the end of the season they will finish in the top two.

A few games stand out in Division One but it was the game between 'This Is Plough We Do It' and 'West Midlands United FC.' that was the game of the night. Two very evenly matched teams that played out a great game but it was 'West Midlands United FC' who came away with the win as they came out as 4-3 winners. In a very tight league, it is still all to play for in the promotion and relegation spaces with one space at each end yet to be confirmed, it will be interesting to see how both ends of the table finish come the end of the season. Congratulations to ‘Bugle FC’ who are the team that will be playing Premier League football next season.

The game of the night in Division Two was the game between 'Dynamo B.C.' and new team 'Men In The Garden'. Two similarly able teams served up a great game but it was 'Men in the Garden' who came out on top 2-0. If they continue this winning form in the coming weeks? Four points separates the top four and it will be interesting to see how it plays out in the final two weeks of the season.

The team of the week for this week has to be Premier League's 'Unprotected Cesc'. After the result above they are now two good results away from a second placed finish. Good luck to them and all teams in the final two games of the season.

The league is now off for this next Bank Holiday Monday (Monday 1st May 2023) but will resume for the Bank Holiday Monday the week after (Monday 8th May 2023) as the centre is closed this week but open the week after. We would like to wish everyone involved with the league a great bank holiday weekend and see you all on the 8th.

We have LIMITED SPACES LEFT to fill a NEW DIVISION starting at the league for the NEW SEASON due to start on Monday 22nd May 2023! Sign up today to take a space and be apart of the best league in your area!
