A fantastic night of 6-a-side football with all teams in attendance and accounted for.
We also welcome three new teams 'Baz Ball FC', 'Bugle FC' and 'Haaland Globetrotters'. All put in very good showings for there first night at the league. We wish them all the best moving forward!
Premier League game of the night was the game between two teams that are starting to know each other well now 'Unprotected Cesc' and 'AFC Vexham'. A number of times they have played each other now and everyone has been close with this one being no different but it was 'Unprotected Cesc' who got the bragging rights this time with a 2-1 win. Always are very well played fixture and I wonder if 'AFC Vexham' will get revenge when the teams meet again later in the season.
A few games stand out in Division One, but it was two promoted teams from Division Two facing each other on the first night of the season that stole the show to be the game of the night as 'West Midlands United F.C.' took on 'Pique Blinders'. Two very evenly matched teams that played out a great game, but it was 'Pique Blinders' who got revenge for finishing second last season who came out as 5-4 winners in the end. An early win on the board should help the team settle into the season well as a long and fun season awaits.
The game of the night in Division Two was the very tight thriller between 'Still Trying FC' and 'Gylfi as Charged'. Two similarly able teams that served up a very close and hard-fought encounter but in the end it was 'Gylfi as Charged' who were able to come out with the 2-1 win. It will be interesting to see who comes out on top when the two teams meet again later in the season.
Team of the week for this week has to be Premier League runners up last season 'Celta Allstars'. A very impressive win against 'Inter Mi'Bathams' means they sit top of the Premier League after Week One. They will look to build on this when they face 'AFC Vexham' next week, who will come out on top?
