STOURBRIDGE MONDAY 6 A SIDE BREAKING NEWS 4TH APRIL 2022

All the latest news from the Stourbridge 6-a-side Monday league is direct from Stourbridge Rugby Club.

Another great evening of 6-a-side football in the Stourbridge Monday 6-a-side league. We did have some COVID non-attendances and the league wishes all concerned that they stay safe and look forward to seeing the teams affected next week.

In the Premier League, we had an excess of excellent games to contend for a game of the week. This week's game of the week is given to an end to end draw between 'Redz On Stedz' and 'Inter Mi Bathams' as the two teams battled it out to improve on their positions in the league table. Despite the thrilling game neither team could do this. It was also another MVP performance from 'Inter Mi Bathams' Matt Preston as he scored a brace adding to his impressive goal tally (12 goals in 6 games) could another golden boot be on the cards? Both teams will be looking to get back on the winning train before the Easter break.

In Division 1, there were also some enticing games as we saw one specific game where the winners just edged the victory by one goal. This game was a 3-2 victory for 'Dynamo B.C.' as they narrowly overcame 'This Is Plough We Do It' in a game in which the losing side will be extremely disappointed not to pick up a point in. However, the win was well navigated by 'Dynamo B.C.' which included a brace from Dave Cartwright and a single goal from Tom Wright which ensured they secured the win. This also puts them in a better place to escape the relegation zone. Even though the two promoted teams from Division Two have struggled this season this game will give them both hope that they can push on for the second half of the season.

Division 2 included a bundle of exciting games with no draws to be seen in sight as teams took full advantage to improve their position in the league table. The game of the week saw another victory for 'West Midlands United FC' as they narrowly beat 'Pique Blinders' 2-1 to progress and ensure they do not slip away from promotion spaces. Despite the loss 'Pique Blinders' put in a performance to be proud of against the third placed team. Hopefully they take confidence from this game to gain a victory next week. Next week a top of the table clash between 'Dynamo Greyhound PFC' and 'West Midlands United FC' will be the one to watch.

Team of the week is given to 'Cott Lane Colts' as they took an impressive 3-1 win over top of the table 'Dynamo Greyhound PFC' to ensure they push up the league. They are now only two points off first place in the division, could this title charge continue? Next up for them is a tough test against 'SteelYES! FC'.
