STOURBRIDGE MONDAY 6 A SIDE BREAKING NEWS 7TH MARCH 2022

All the latest news from the Stourbridge 6-a-side league is direct from Stourbridge Rugby Club.

A fantastic night of games in the Stourbridge Monday League. We did have one non-attendance due to 'Schoolboy Error' giving the required 7 days notice needed to cancel a fixture. The team have confirmed there return next week and we wish them all the best in there game.

There was plenty of action on show in the Stourbridge Monday Premier League where teams showed what talent they have. The game of the week, however, was played between 'Crep City FC' and last week new arrivals 'S&K', 'S&K' were sure not to disappoint as they continued their unbeaten record in the league beating 'Crep City FC' 4-1. 'Crep City FC' did not disappoint either bringing a good team display and were unlucky on the evening to not get a closer result against a good new team. Despite the loss, we expect the experienced 'Crep City FC' to bounce back as it is also early in the season.

In Division 1 we also had some close games with more than 1 game only being won by 1 goal. The pick of the bunch however was 'Oaks Ay We's 1-0 win over 'This is Plough We Do It'. The two teams' performances could barely be separated hence the 1-0 score line, they seemed to match each other in every area of the field. It is only early days and even though they are opposite ends of the table going into week three 'This Is Plough We Do It' will be looking for revenge when the two teams meet again later in the season.

In Division 2 the game of the evening saw new team 'Beercelona' also gain their second victory of the new season against 'Cott Lane Colts' 3-2. In an exciting game which went end to end both fought hard to gain the crucial points needed at the start of the season to get off the mark.  Both of these teams showed in the game they have the potential to push on into the top spaces of this league. Next up for 'Beercelona' is 'Pique Blinders', will they be top of the league after week three of the season?

Team of the week was especially difficult to pick this week with plenty of great games.  However, the team of the week goes to 'SteelYes! FC' after they bounced back from their 6-1 loss in the previous week to beat 'Pique Blinders' in a magnificent 8-2 win. This was largely down to 4 important goals from Alex Sharp. Next up for them is second placed 'Dynamo Greyhound PFC'.

Although the league is currently full there is always space on our waiting list! GET IN CONTACT NOW to be a part of the best 6-a-side leagues in your area!
