In a thrilling week 3 of the Stourbridge Monday Football league, the action was as intense as ever, with teams battling for dominance across the divisions. Top performers left their footprint on the field, making this week truly one for the books.
Unfortunately, we did have one non-attendence in Talbot 6 however, we have confirmed with their team captain their return to the league next week. Please ensure you let your area manager know in advance if you are not attending to ensure the league runs as smoothly as possible.
In more positive news in the Premier League, Haaland Globetrotters provided an impressive performance and outmatched AFC Vexham with a 4-1 victory. Unprotected Cesc edged out Growler Out FC with a 2-1 win in a matchup that was almost too close for a decider! Wheres Your Man FC defeated Celta Allstars 3-2 in a tight contest where the two teams fought tooth and nail for the deciding goal however it was Wheres Your Man FC who came up trumps against the Premier League holders.
Over in Division 1, Big Stiff Chip Butty overcame a determined LABEL FC in a 3-2 victory, in a match that ebbed and flowed however Big Stiff Chip Butty who struck the final blow of the match. BBF United triumphed over Slumdog Mingolet, 4-2 in an exciting matchup with both teams providing excellent accounts of themselves. Baz Ball FC dominated VI Inches Combined with a 5-2 win a match packed full of goals which eventually leaned towards Baz Ball FC's favour.
Division 2 saw Mirage United comfortably beat Bayern Neverlosen 3-0 as they were on top form in attack and defence throughout the match. De Jong Boys got the better of West Midlands United F.C. in a 6-2 victory where their attackers were on fine form throughout the fixture.
In Division 3, Paralympique Marseille fell to Genoa Side in a 1-0 defeat keeping a clean sheet and providing the all-important goal. Reserve Squad V2, outgunned Hwang Onasec, 4-0 as they provided a perfect display in attack and defence. Scran City took the victory against Gylfi Pleasures, 2-0 after a composed performance and taking away opportunities from their opponents.
In Division 4, Athletic Dildao, got the better of Spignif Allstars in an exceptional 5-0 win. Peter Larsen Kaffe and This Is Plough We Do It ended in a 1-1 draw despite the best efforts from both sides. While Cott Lane Colts were narrowly defeated by Waggon Wonderers, 2-1 in a game that could have gone either way.
Finally, in Division 5, Still Trying FC and Gylfi As Charged settled for a 3-3 draw in a match that could have gone either way. Danny Gs Henchmen overcame The Unbelievable Lads FC 3-1 in a valiant debut performance from the side. Hickorys Allstars, took a commanding 6-2 victory over We Don't Give A Flying Duck FC as their attack was on fine form on the night.
This team of the week is given to Reserve Squad V2 after their exceptional victory on the night beating their opponents 4-0. Next week they take on Gylfi Pleasures which will be an exciting matchup between the two sides.
