A fantastic night of 6-a-side football in the Brierley Hill Monday League. Unfortunately we did have two disciplinary issues in the game between 'Tom Gs Under 3s' vs 'Cali Cartel FC' first game on. George Howard from 'Tom Gs Under 3s' received a red card for a bad foul on an opponent which means he received a £20 fine and a two week ban. This was met by two of the opposing players of 'Cali Cartel FC' reacting in a way that is not welcome at the league at any time. As this is not the first time a player from this team has done this the league has no choice but to remove the team from the league and issue a £100 fine for this reaction. It is important that all teams remain within the rules of the league and it is important to remember that any disciplinary issues will be dealt with swiftly and accordingly. Although this does open up a space in the league it is paramount that teams understand that this is a leisure league and that if any situation like this is to happen again in future that the same punishment will be given everytime.
On more positive news, game of the night in the Premier Division this week goes to the game between '6 Berks And A Turk' and 'Puyol Pants Down'. To say this was a shock is an understatement but the league leaders were beaten 4-0 by a team that deserved the win and this gives 'Puyol Pants Down' their first defeat of the season. Next week for 'Puyol Pants Down' is a top of the table clash against 'Peter Beardsley', can they get back on track?
The game of the night in Division One was between 'We Lose Every Week' and 'Who Ate All Depays'. Last weeks team of the week pushed hard for two wins out of two but it was 'We Lose Every Week' that came away with the 2-1 win. Next week for them is a renewal of their rivalry with 'West Midlands United F.C', 'Who Ate All Depays' have third in the table 'We Don't Give A Flying Duck FC' who are looking to bounce back from defeats in the past weeks, good luck to all.
Team of the week has to be '6 Berks And A Turk' with their brilliant victory against the league leaders. They have now climbed out of the relegation zone and are looking to move further up the table with six games to go.
We now have one space in the league to fill, if you are interested sign up today and take part in the best league in your area!
