Sunday league news 26th September
The Stourbridge Sunday league returned this week with a set of fixtures that were thoroughly enjoyed by all teams involved with some great games.
Unfortunately 'The Beasts Barmy Army' were not present for their fixture and as it is the first game of the season the league have made the decision to remove the team from the league in order to allow more reliable teams to join. It is paramount that all teams try there hardest to get a team out each and every week and if this is not possible that they notify the area manager in order for the league to run as smoothly as possible.
Premier Division-
The opening match on the Premier Division came between ‘Sexy Football’ and ‘Hoosier Daddy's' where neither side could break the deadlock finishing 2-2. Two goals from Chris Young of ‘Hoosier Daddy's' wasn’t enough to win the game, however both teams are still undefeated in their start to the new campaign. On the other pitch there was also a 2-2 draw between ‘Pathetico Madrid’ and ‘Magni Facio’ in a very similar game to the other where a brace from Max Woodall could not separate the two sides. The third game saw ‘AFC Audnam’ begin the season with a win to put them top of the table in a very entertaining well spirited game. The final game of the evening which was also game of the week resulted in a 6-2 win for ‘Pring Ding FC’ against ‘I Like That’ which also earned them team of the week, in order to start the season as they finished last season. It was MVP Lewis Hill who scored an important hattrick to contribute to the big win in a great start to the season.
