FANTASTIC START TO THE SEASON IN STOURBRIDGE!
A fantastic first first game of the season in the Stourbridge Sunday League at Stourbridge Rugby Club. Unfortunately we did have two non-attendances as 'Kiner Massive' failed to turn up for their fixture and 'FCustom' were late for their fixture. As it is the first game we will be in contact with both teams to confirm there committed to the league as the new season has only just got underway. We did have one team missing 'Delph And Safety' due to a positive COVID case in the team so they will be back at the league to start for the second games of the season after following the correct procedures in place when it comes to COVID. It is imperative that all teams try their best to complete there fixture each and every week and if they can't to contact the Area Manager to allow the league to run as smoothly as possible.
In more positive news it was also great to welcome new teams 'Hoosier Daddys' and 'Blackhorse United'. They both put on very good showings for their first games of the season and we look forward to seeing how they progress as the season moves forward. Good luck to all teams for the new season!
Game of the night in the Premier Division this week goes to the game between 'Dusty Yutes' and last seasons Division One champions 'Pring Ding FC'. A very tight affair that saw two evenly matched teams playing out a very close game and saw some brilliant play throughout and saw 6 goals scored, it was 'Dusty Yutes' that got the two goals right at the end of the game to take the win 4-2. 'Pring Ding FC' will be looking for revenge when the teams meet again later in the season so we will see how this pans out.
Two new teams 'Big Butie Beaches' and 'Moves LLike Agger' played out the game of the night in Division One. Another very good game that could have gone either way but ended in a very competitive 1-1 draw. With the quality on show throughout this division it will be interesting to see who will be coming out on top and being promoted come the end of the season.
As they have picked up where they left off in previous seasons reigning champions 'Queens Shark Rangers' are our team of the week. Another clinical display against a very good 'Magni Facio' team shows there intent to be champions again this season with a 7-2 win. Can anybody stop them this season and take the title away from them?
