The Stourbridge Sunday league returned this week with tough competition throughout both leagues. The tough competition resulted in some hard-fought games leading to stalemates and teams just edging over others.
It's a shame that 'AFC Audnam' were unable to attend there fixture this week, the team look forward to returning next week. It is paramount teams are there each and every week in order for the league to run as smoothly as possible.
In more positive news we welcomed new team 'Pathetico Madrid' who shined in their first game as they ran out 4-1 winners. Well done and good luck for the rest of the season!
Premier League-
The Premier League kicked off in an exciting fashion with a closely fought game between ‘I Like That’ playing against ‘Magni Facio’. This nail-biter resulted in a 4-2 victory for ‘I Like That’. This included an excellent performance from Matt Guest who bagged two goals and was MVP. This also pushes ‘I Like That’ up the table pressurising ‘Pring Ding FC’. The next match resulted in a smash and grab the win for ‘Blackhorse United’ in a 1-0-win edging over an in form ‘Pring Ding FC’ which may slightly damage their title pushing hopes. Nonetheless it was Callum Winwood with the important goal and MVP. The final game in the premier league resulted in a 2-2 deadlock between ‘Dusty Yutes’ and ‘Sexy Football’. This included all-round team performances from both sides with multiple goal scorers for each team, however it was Edward Sandford who gained the MVP in the game. This vital draw also increases ‘Dusty Yutes’ spot at the top of the league by 1 point.
Division 1-
The first kick off came between ‘Hoosier Daddy's’ and ‘Big Butie Beaches’ which concluded in a 1-1 draw between both sides. Important goals came from Adam Bateman and Dan Smith which cemented his all-round MVP performance also. This game couldn’t separate either teams in the league table on joint points. In second game it was ‘Moves Like Agger’ accelerating their lead at the top with their game against ‘Magni Facio’ and a Finley Bridgewater MVP. The final game of the evening was between ‘The Beasts Barmy Army’ against ‘Pathetico Madrid’ and it was the latter who came out with one of the most convincing wins of the evening in a 4-1 win. With goals from Shea Taylor (MVP), Max Woodall and a Brace from Matthew Whiley.

The game of the evening came in the first match of the premiership between ‘I Like That’ and ‘Magni Facio’ where both teams fought tooth and nail for the win however it was ‘I Like That who managed to get the eventual win.
Team of the Week-
The team of the week are new team 'Pathetico Madrid' due to the nature of there win in there first league game. They will be looking to build on this as the season progresses. Next up for them is the difficult task of playing 'Hoosier Daddy's'.
