Sunday 11th September - University of Birmingham Round-Up

It was a good evening's football on Sunday in the University of Birmingham 6 a side league this week, with all scheduled teams in attendance for the first matches of the new season as the league returned to its previous 6pm-8pm slot on a weekly basis.

Newly promoted Crusaders Massive got off to a fine start to life in the Premier Division as they thrashed Grafters by a 10-2 scoreline, taking to the higher division like a duck to water!  New boys Your Dad Sells Avon got off to a winning start for the new season as they were impressive 3-1 winners over Chiellini Con Carne.  Elsewhere both Gledfellas v Dads Army and The Pique Blinders v Chivas Primera ended all square at 1-1.

In Division One, two other promoted teams got off to winning starts, with The Tormenta running out 4-1 winners over Cesc Pistols, and Damo Carew getting a solid 2-0 win against The Hungry Boys.  Elsewhere Diogo Jota and Kings Heath played out an entertaining 3-3 draw to complete the divisions action.

Tikka Taka take an early lead in Division Two as they secured a superb 4-0 win in their season opener against Athletico Northfield, whilst Robben Me Blind were 3-1 winners over Big Fat Dave in their first game since promotion.  Chivas Supplemento were also winners in their first game of the campaign as they edged past Orange Tangerines by 2 goals to 1.  Elsewhere in the battle of the angels, Mxrleys and Hales shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw.

Invictus FC were big 5-1 winners in their match against Ballers or Draws in their opener in Division Three, whilst Ajax Army edged past The Cotters by 2 goals to 1.  In the game between Akhtars VI and Naughty Pinky, nobody could take the initiative meaning both had to settle for a point apiece in a goalless draw.

We are delighted to welcome new teams 'Get The Badge In' in Division One, and the addition of all other Division Four teams this week as the students return to the area.
