Sunday 14th January - University of Birmingham Round-Up

It was a good evening's football in the University of Birmingham Sunday 6 a side league this week overall, with all teams in attendance for the season opener barring a couple.  Gangsters Allardyce and Leavemyarselona will be spoken to accordingly to confirm their returns to action on Sunday 21st January.


In the Premier League division, Metch FC and Athletico Northfield ended in a tie with a score of 1-1. Ls Up Fc beat Cadballerz with a 3-0 score, while Damo Carew and Chiellini Con Carne battled out to a goalless draw. Dads Army dominated their match against X, scoring 5 goals without reply. The player of the week from the Premier League division was Ross from Ls Up Fc who bagged a hat-trick.


Over in Division 1, Up The Cru secured an impressive 5-1 victory over Alton Wanderers FC, and Chivas Supplemento outplayed SB Generals by 3 goals to none. Say No To Drugs FC faced a heavy defeat against FDL FC who scored 6 goals in reply to a single goal. Billy from Up The Cru, with his 3 goals, was the top scorer of the division.


Division 2 saw a thrilling encounter between The Hungry Boys and Broderick AFC with both teams scoring 4 goals each. Sporting Stirchley FC scored a clean sweep victory against Dead Ballers FC. Diamond Scrubs won an exciting 12-goal thriller against Sharkys Saints but the highlight of the division was Sam d from Diamond Scrubs, who scored 3 goals.


Top Gs and AFC Domi Force struck a draw in the Division 3 opener, while BigFatDave FC defeated TMA by 2-0. Division 4 saw close competitions with Real Pasante and Paraletic Athletic emerging victorious in their respective matches.


In Division 5, Tampons Should Be Free and Hangin walked away with comfortable victories against their opponents.


The first week of the new season has set the bar high and promises an exciting season ahead, and we look forward to seeing everyone in attendance on Sunday 21st January for game week 2.
