It was a good evening's football in the University of Birmingham Sunday 6 a side league this week, with all teams in attendance for their matches as scheduled, the only exception to this being Al Shabaab who have been removed from the league as this was only their second game with us. We are pleased to welcome new team Wake Up Milfy to the league as their replacement on Sunday 23rd January.
Sting Dem FC moved four points clear at the top of the Premier Division, as they cruised past second placed Dads Army by a 4-0 score line, placing them in a very strong position going into the last five matches. Pain In Dias got their second win on the bounce as they overcame Sporting Madrid by a 2-1 score line, showing they are getting to grips with the division. Elsewhere nothing could separate Chiellini Con Carne and Chivas Supplemento who's game ended goalless.
Top of the table Gledfellas moved a point clear of second place this week, although they were held to a 2-2 draw with Chivas Supplemento, second placed Only Matip In suffered a 2-0 reverse at the hands of Gylfi Pleasures who are improving week on week. FKW FC sit in third place and took full advantage of these two results, they were 4-1 winners over Dolce and Lallana to move themselves within a single point of the leaders.
Birmingham Tiki-Taka Elite stay top of Division Two after beating Hungry Boys, who drop to fourth, by a 2-1 score line. Dumbledore Pure Bludz now occupy second space in the division, recording an impressive 6-0 victory against Brummie Boys FC, whilst now third placed Pique Blinders were 2-1 winners against Hales Angels. Come Digne With Me completed the action in the division with a convincing 5-0 victory against second bottom Cesc Pistols.
Division Three remains very close with the top three all separated by just 2 points, but none of them are giving an inch at the moment as they all won this week. Tikka Taka stay leaders but were made to work hard this week as they edged past Bayer Neverlusen by a single goal. 34a1ner continue their quest for promotion and were 4-1 winners over newbies Alton Wanderers, whilst Jose 6 continue to keep on the tails of the two above them, they were 2-1 victors over Cadrington FC. FC Tormenta remain in sixth place and already look safe as they moved further clear of the bottom two, one of which they beat 2-0 this week in the form of Boshers FC.
A big result at the top of Division Four this week as leaders The Cotters lost their 100% record, and lost it emphatically as now second placed Damo Carew thrashed them 5-2 to move within four points of the leaders. Orange Tangerines dropped to third place after a 2-1 reverse against new team MPU, whilst fourth placed Mxrleys Angels keep up their hunt for promotion with a 1-0 win over UAE Town. DS Youth Academy and Winding Wanderers cancelled each other out this week with DS picking up their first point of the season as they drew 1-1.
