It was a good evening's football in the Birmingham Sunday 6 a side league this week which saw all teams in attendance throughout the night as scheduled barring two new teams in the new division which was disappointing. Ultras and South Side FC will be given the opportunity to respond to us or will be removed.
Dads Army remain top of the pile in the Premier Division but after being held to a 1-1 draw by bottom side Goose AVFC they only sit there on goal difference. Chivas Primera are now breathing down their necks at the top after they won 2-0 in their match against AFC Wip. Sporting Madrid lost their chance to go top of the table with those results in mind, after they suffered a 3-0 humbling at the hands of Chiellini Con Carne, whilst Obi One Kanobi Nil went fourth with a 2-0 win over Brunswick Bladez.
Krul Runnings top the pile in Division One and so far have done so with a perfect record, a 5-1 thrashing of Tea and Busquets their latest result to make it 5 wins from as many games. Other results in the division extended Krul's lead at the top to four points, this after Tekkerslovakia and Birmingham Tiki Taka Elite suffered 2-0 defeats in their games against Dolce and Lallana and Chivas Supplemento respectively. Despite a respectable 1-1 draw with D&G United, The Hungry Boys dropped to the foot of the table after Dolce and Lallana's win.
Division Two sees It Was Only a Squidge remain at the top, however their 1-1 draw with The Favourites coupled with a 3-1 win for Lovelle FC over Only Put Matip In sees the league at the top cut to a solitary point. Strike4orce remain in third after their 2-1 victory over Cadrington FC and South Birmingham Storm moved up to fourth place following an impressive 3-0 win over Hales Angels.
Oldman Athletic's dominance of Division Three continues, they made it 5 wins from 5 and are yet to concede a goal, their latest result a comfortable 3-0 against Incredible Scenery. Ashley Dole FC are also just as dominant having won all their matches up to now, they were 9-0 winners over Athletic Utd to close the goal difference gap to just 6. The top two meet this weekend coming so something has to give and all eyes will be on this one!
A night of exceptionally close action in Division Four sees Boca Seniors remain top after a 1-0 win over BCU Vets, they move 2 points clear of second placed Pathetico Madrid who were held to a goalless draw by Jose 6. UAE Town climbed away from the drop zone with a single goal win against bottom of the table Bournville Massive, whilst Lads on Toure moved up to third place with a professional performance and 2-0 win over Stevie Wonders.
In the newly formed Division Five there were two league games which took place. Pique Blinders romped home to a 7-0 win against The Stardogs whilst Long Ballers and FC Tormenta played out a 7 goal thriller in which the former ran out 4-3 winners.
We wish all teams good luck heading into the matches on Sunday 23rd May with Birmingham's premier provider of small sided football!
