Sunday 16th October - Birmingham Round-Up

It was a good evening's 6 a side football in the University of Birmingham on Sunday with all 48 teams in attendance throughout the night across all six divisions!

We welcomed new team 'Neverloseagain' to the action on Sunday as they looked right at home in their first game in the Premier Division, grabbing a 2-2 draw off Gledfellas!  Elsewhere top of the table Your Dad Sells Avon were in scintillating form in front of goal this week as they romped to a 7-1 win over Crusaders.  Chiellini Con Carne took advantage of Gledfellas dropping a point as they were 4-1 winners over Chivas Primera, whilst Dads Army felt the wrath of reigning champions The Pique Blinders this week who recorded a 3-0 win over the experienced team.

Division One leaders Damo Carew were held for the first time this season as they shared a point a piece with Diogo Jota in a well competed 1-1 draw, whilst second placed The Tormenta were unable to capitalise on this, suffering a 4-1 reverse against Dumbledore Pure Bludz!  Gylfi Pleasures moved up to third spot as they cruised to a 3-0 win over The Hungry Boys, whilst AFC Kings Heath and Cesc Pistols drew 3-3 in an end to end game!

Hales Angels climbed to the summit of Division Two this week with a 2-0 victory over Robben Me Blind, leapfrogging Tiki Taka who were held to a 1-1 draw by third placed Chivas Supplemento.  Fourth placed Robben Me Blind lost ground on the chasing pack after a 2-0 defeat to bottom side Mxrleys Angels, whilst Athletico Northfield climbed a place with a well earned 3-2 win over BigFatDave FC.

Division Three leaders Ajax Army edged past a resillient Akhtars VI this week as they eventually won 1-0, whilst Ballers or Draws moved into second place on goal difference as they beat The Cotters 2-1.  Invictus leapfrogged this weeks opponents Goals Aloud into third after clinching a 2-0 win over this weeks opponents, whilst the action was rounded off by a Naughty Pinky 2-1 win over The Score Is.

Boshers FC now sit pretty at the top of Division Four following their 11-2 thumping of Brummie Boys, significantly boosting their goal difference to that of second placed Alton Wanderers despite them beating FC Bournabeu 3-1.  Mid-table The Elgar Penthouse got another win on the board this week, as they crept past Madeleine Milan by a 2-1 scoreline.  it ended 1 a piece in the game between The Pie Guys and Dead Ballers to complete the divisions action.

Division Five's second week up and running saw some more close games played, although Hicks and Eel took a lead at the top after they cruised past NDicka 4-1.  The other two league games saw MSC FC win by a single goal against Shedhead Sunday, whilst nothing could separate Masterbaiters and Bumba Lion in a game that ended goalless.
