It was a good evening's football overall in the University of Birmingham 6 a side league on Sunday overall this week. There were a handful of absences owing to Mother's Day but all teams have confirmed their return on Sunday 26th March.
NeverLoseAgain got back to winning ways this week as they extend their lead at the top of the Premier Division to three points, beating The Hungry Boys by 2 goals to nil, whilst second placed Chiellini Con Carne lost by the same scoreline against Dads Army to lose ground on the leaders, Dads moving level on points with their opponents. Elsewhere Damo Carew remain in fourth after an impressive 4-1 win over Chivas Primera, whilst Gledfellas won by the same scoreline against new boys Up The Cru.
We've Got Diogo Jota paid a high price for their defeat this week as they suffered a 3-1 reverse at the hands of fifth placed Hales Angels. Whilst Athletico Northfield moved up two places to the summit as they overcame Goals Aloud by the same scoreline.
The Division Two title race took a twist this week as leaders Elgar Penthouse were rocked by promotion rivals Dumbledore Pure Bludz who move to within a point of them after thrashing them 5-1, and above Alton Wanderers who were beaten 2-0 by BigFatDave. Metch FC got right back into the promotion race as they romped to an emphatic 9-1 win against Bell Them Birds Back Lad, leaving the top four separated by just two points. Elsewhere at the other end of the table Invictus were 3-1 winners over Mxrleys Angels as they battle to avoid the drop.
Division Three leaders NDicka In Dias were unforgiving in front of goal this week as they thrashed bottom of the table Naughty Pinky 10-1, whilst Hicks and Eel climbed to second place following a 2-2 draw with Dead Ballers.
Division Four remains close at the top as up to five teams are still in the promotion hunt. Leaders Top G's and second placed Masterbaiters shared a 2-2 draw this week as they couldn't be separated, allowing third placed Brummie Boys within a point of second as they cruised to a 3-0 win over Diamond Scrubs.
There was some high scoring action in Division Five as leaders Tealby United were 12-2 winners over Tiger Force, whilst Hardly Athletic looked pretty handy this week as they hammered MLCC 14-0. Second placed 6 Offenders had to work a lot harder for their points this week but got over the line as they were 2-1 winners against third placed Flacid Van Winkel.
We thank all teams for their continued commitment and reliability towards the league and wish all good luck going into game week 12 with Birmingham's premier providers of small sided football.
