It was another fantastic evening's football in the University of Birmingham Sunday 6 a side league which saw all teams in attendance for their scheduled matches across the six divisions, the only exception was Registered Six Defenders in Division Two. They'll be spoken to accordingly to confirm their return on Sunday 9th February.
There was no change at the top of the Premier Division this week as Make a Change continue to lead the way, they were 3-1 victors in their meeting against fourth places Brunzwick Bladez this week. Dad's Army went back into second spot following an entertaining 3-2 victory over Sporting Madrid, that coupled with Chivas Primera's 2-1 defeat to D&G was enough to put them back into the title race! Elsewhere Hungry Boys and new side Tekkerslovakia played out a 2-2 draw against The Hungry Boys.
The SSS FC remain leaders in Division One, although only goal difference separates them and Actuary Not That Bad. SSS' goal difference improved again this week as they beat Shovel 4-0, whilst Actuary edged past Simply Kosher 2-1. Third placed Chivas Supplemento remain on the periphery of promotion but can't break into that top two just yet. They were also 4-0 winners against Six Offenders. Biggest winners of the whole night were Goose AVFC who thrashed Team Name 10-0.
It's as you were in terms of standings at the top of Division Two, although Chiellini Con Carne moved four points clear of third placed Dolce and Lallana who they beat 3-0 in a convincing performance. This also allowed second placed Tea and Busquets to move 2 points clear of third place following their single goal victory over OJKFM.
Division Three continues to be dominated by Krul Runnings who are now 4 points clear of second and third. This following their 3-2 victory over Expected Toulouse in an entertaining encounter, whilst AFC Kings Heath suffered a 2-1 reverse against UAE Town and Finn Loves Grans played a goalless draw out with FC SE.
Average Bros remain second but are now level on points with top placed Beeches FC in Division Four. Bros picked up a 3-1 victory over De Jong Offenders whilst Beeches had to settle for a point in their match against Orange Tangerines, which ended goalless. There is now just +1 GD separating the two sides. The Trogs are handily placed following their 1-0 win against Sainsbury's Baysix meaning they are now just two points from the summit themselves.
In the student league, just Fatty Trekkers and Delph and Safety remain on maximum points after only 2 games of the campaign. Trekkers were 4-1 winners against Hannover whilst Delph and Safety won by a convincing 5-0 scoreline over FC Third Bar.
We are delighted to see all divisions running as smoothly as they are at present and thank all teams for their continued reliability. If you do have any questions or concerns regarding the league you can contact Shaun at Head Office on 0333 123 2340.
