It was an excellent evening's football in the University of Birmingham Sunday 6 a side league this week as the brand new sixth division got up and running, providing some fantastic matches.
In the Premier Division, leaders Gledfellas dropped to second place after sharing the spoils with Pique Blinders in a 2-2 draw, whilst Your Dad Sells Avon moved to pole position as they were 3-1 winners over Dads Army. Chiellini Con Carne moved up to third place with a 5-0 win due to Grafters cancellation (they've now been removed). Crusaders and Chivas completed the action in the division as they drew 1 a piece.
Damo Carew lead the way in Division One as their fifth win in a row came in the form of a 3-1 victory over Cesc Pistols. Second placed The Tormenta got back to winning ways this week, claiming their fourth win in five by beating Gylfi Pleasures 3-1. Hungry Boys moved up a place to fourth as they were comfortable 3-0 winners over AFC Kings Heath.
Division Two leaders Tikka Taka were beaten 2-0 by Hales Angels this week, with the second placed team moving level on points with the leaders. Chivas Supplemento stay in third place after beating BigFatDave 2-1, whilst Robben Me Blind were comfortable 4-0 winners over Mxrleys Angels. Completing the action for the week in the division was Athletico Northfield who moved clearer of the drop zone with a 3-1 win over Orange Tangerines.
Division Three is shaping up nicely as leaders Ajax Army won a 9 goal thriller this week, beating their friends Invictus FC by 5 goals to 4, whilst second placed Goals Aloud beat Naughty Pinky by a 3-1 scoreline, and Ballers or Draws moved up to third with an 8-0 thrashing of Akhtars VI. The Cotters moved up a place to fifth as they beat The Score Is by a comfortable 6-0 scoreline.
Division Four leaders FC Bournabeu collected maximum points for the fourth week in a row this week as they beat Madeleine Milan by 2 goals to nil. Alton Wanderers shared the spoils with Boshers in a 1-1 draw, but that was enough to move them into second place, whilst The Elgar Penthouse were 1-0 winners over The Pie Guys. Dead Ballers and Brummie Boys also shared a point a piece in an entertaining 3-3 draw.
Division Five shapes up nicely with all the new teams playing this week. Shedhead Sunday were 2-0 winners in their match against Apna Madrid, whilst Ndicka In Dias were 1-0 winners in a closely contested match. Elsewhere Hicks and Eel Shared the spoils in an entertaining 2-2 draw.
After their second cancellation running, Grafters have now been removed from the league and replaced with new side Bumba Lion FC.
