It was a good evening's football overall in the Cannock and Hednesford Sunday 6 a side league this week, with all teams in attendance for their matches throughout the night as scheduled, the only disappointment being Paralympiacos who failed to show, and have subsequently been removed from the league.
In the Premier League, 01543 FC and AC McCann battled it out to a scoreless draw in a match dominated by tough defense and missed opportunities. BARELY ATHLETIC proved their might by overpowering Team Maestro with a 6-2 triumph, securing a firm hold in the standings. This was followed by an equally noteworthy performance from Diadora FC, narrowly edging out Snorting Wizbon 1-0 in a fiercely fought match. Finally, FC G&T bested PBDL FC 4-2, seizing an impressive victory in a keenly contested battle of skill and strategy.
Over in Division 1, the matches were equally stimulating. Bar Snort FC held off Adi Cannock 2-1 in a closely fought clash. The Crow-Knees and Per Vertesacker played out a tense 2-2 draw. FUB FC managed to squeeze past Street FC with a 2-1 victory while Sky Blue Army secured victory against Hednesford U5s with a 3-1 scoreline. Norfolk N Chance stole the show with a 5-0 rout against Kane Cobras Fc, displaying a sensational attacking performance.
We wish all teams the best of luck going into the next round of fixtures with Cannock and Hednesford's premier providers of small sided football!
