Sunday 21st May - Cannock Round-Up

In a scorching showdown under the blistering sunshine, the  teams of the Cannock and Hednesford Sunday 6-a-side league brought their A-game to the 5's Pavilion and Sports Ground. With all 20 teams turning up for an action-packed day of football, the matches delivered both excitement and surprises, sprinkled with witty puns using the team names.


IN the Premier Division a very evenly fought clash between WE KANTE WIN and NORFOLK N CHANCE took place,. Despite the valiant efforts of NORFOLK N CHANCE, they were left disappointed as WE KANTE WIN clinched a narrow 1-0 victory, leaving their opponents with no chance to turn the tide with the goal being so late in the game.


STROKE TITTY faced off against SNORTING WIZBON in a goal-laden extravaganza. STROKE TITTY's attack was in full force, scoring an impressive nine goals against their opponents, who managed to muster only two in response. It was a titillating performance that left SNORTING WIZBON gasping for breath.


In another thrilling encounter, TEAM MAESTRO danced their way to a 6-3 triumph over SKY BLUE ARMY. The maestros orchestrated a symphony of goals, leaving their opponents singing the blues. SKY BLUE ARMY fought hard but couldn't overcome the tactical brilliance of TEAM MAESTRO.


The battle between 01543 FC and DIADORA FC was a closely contested affair. With the scoreline hanging in the balance, it was 01543 FC who emerged victorious with a 2-1 win. They showed Diadora FC that sometimes, the smallest margin can make the biggest difference.


AYDEN FC and MASTER HATERS locked horns in a match filled with tension and drama. The masterful haters managed to edge past AYDEN FC with a slender 3-2 victory, leaving their opponents to ponder what could have been. AYDEN FC fought bravely, but the master haters proved too formidable to conquer.


Division One:


Moving on to the Division One battles, LEAVEMYARSEALONA faced BREAST RUMMIGE ALBION in a contest that had spectators on the edge of their seats. In a nail-biting encounter, LEAVEMYARSEALONA emerged victorious with a close 3-2 scoreline. They left BREAST RUMMIGE ALBION feeling deflated but determined to bounce back.


AC MCCANN took on BARELY ATHLETIC in a match that showcased the disparity in skill and determination. BARELY ATHLETIC displayed their prowess on the field, thrashing AC MCCANN with a resounding 6-1 victory. It was a performance that barely gave their opponents a chance to catch their breath.


FATLETICO III clashed with BAR SNORT FC in a high-scoring showdown. FATLETICO III proved they had no intention of snorting at victory as they delivered an impressive 6-2 win. BAR SNORT FC fought valiantly but couldn't extinguish the fire of FATLETICO III's attacking prowess.


KANE COBRAS FC slithered into a fierce encounter with DYNAMO FUKTHEREST. Despite their best efforts, KANE COBRAS FC couldn't charm their way past DYNAMO FUKTHEREST, who roared to a dominant 6-2 victory. The cobras may have hissed, but the dynamo showed no signs of slowing down.


Finally, HEDNESFORD U5S took to the field against FUB FC in a one-sided affair. FUB FC proved to be a force to be reckoned with, racking up an impressive 7-0 victory. HEDNESFORD U5S fought hard, but FUB FC left them feeling flat as a pancake.


As the day came to a close, the Cannock and Hednesford Sunday 6-a-side league expressed their gratitude to all the teams for their unwavering commitment and reliability throughout the campaign.
