It was a good evening's football in the Cannock and Hednesford 6 a side league on Sunday this week, with all teams in attendance throughout the night for the first game of the new campaign.
In the Premier League division, two matches ended in draws, indicating the fierce competition that's set to unfold. Snorting Wizbon and AC McCann played a nail-biting 3-3 draw, with both teams showing their prowess on the field. Paralympiacos and Diadora FC also split the points on the day with a 2-2 draw.
But it was FC G&T who stormed to the top of the Premier League table with a resounding 7-0 victory over Murder On Zidanes Floor. The star player for FC G&T was undoubtedly their striker, who netted four of the team's seven goals.
In Division 1, the highlight of the day was a high-scoring clash between Kane Cobras FC and Hednesford U5s. The Cobras emerged victorious, netting five goals to Hednesford's two, catapulting them to the top of Division 1.
Street FC fell 4-1 to Bar Snort FC, while Sky Blue Army got off to a winning start with a 2-0 victory over Expected Toulouse. Norfolk N Chance also had a successful start to the season, securing a 3-1 win over FUB FC.
We thank all teams for their continued commitment and reliability towards the league, and look forward to welcoming all teams to the league for game week 2 of the campaign.
