It was another good evening's football in the Cannock Wednesday 6 a side league this week, with all teams in attendance for the second round of fixtures for the season, barring a late cancellation from Poonting FC who've now been removed from the league, creating one team space for anyone interested in joining!
Nutmeg City and Exeter Gently made it 2 wins from 2 in the Premier Division this week. Nutmeg coming out on top of an entertaining encounter with SMC, 4-2 the final score, whilst Exeter Gently were 2-1 winners over Athletic Bilswan in a tightly contested game. Murder on Zidane's Floor remain unbeaten but couldn't manage a win this week, as they shared the spoils in a six goal thriller with Banglasesh, finishing 3-3. Ideal FC got their season up and running with a 4-1 win over Cheslyn Hay.
Although the season is in its infancy, Division One looks like it may be a closely contested league, no team has won their opening two games of the season. Decorer lead a trio of teams who have 3 points from their first two games, they shared the spoils with Newstead FC who are another of those teams. Mables Spartans sit in second spot as they drew an end to end game 4-4 against Oriental Delight who are yet to win this season. Pye Green Massive got their first points of the campaign this week, and did so in style as they romped to a 5-1 win over Limes FC, whilst Strongbow followed up defeat last week with a 3-1 win over Shameless 6.
In Division Two, Athletico Madras are shaping up well this campaign as they followed up last weeks 2-0 win with a 5-1 thrashing of Limes FC 2. Traff FC sit on 3 points from two games as they were held to a 2-2 draw against Baldeaux, whilst Teenage Mutant Ninja Skrtels registered their first win of the season in style, this in the form of a 6-0 thrashing of Leavemyarsealona. Last but by no means least was the 9 goal thriller between Wyld Stallyns and Vic FC, a game in which Stallyns eventually came out on top of with a 5-4 win.
Fiveways impressive start to the season continues, as they got their second win on the bounce, they were 4-1 victors over Newolvabora this week seeing them sit top of the pile so far. The Cesc Pistols also have two wins in a row, also winning by a 4-1 score line in their match against Sevilla Lacatalent. Ball of Duty and Inter Yanan shared the spoils in an entertaining encounter, 2-2 the full time result.
Capri Sun have looked lethal in front of goal in their first two games of the season, they followed up last weeks 6-2 win with an 8-2 thumping of new boys Gangsters Allardyce, as they set their stall out for the rest of the league at this early stage. Cross Bar-celona have had a solid start to the season too, they followed up a draw last week with a hard fought 3-2 win over HStikkytokky, as did new boys FC Borussia Teeth who also sit on three points from two games, they were 1-0 winners against The Pitmen in another close fought game. Deportivo La Cannock and Haven't Got One Yet couldn't be separated and both registered their first point of the season in a game that ended goalless.
