It was another fantastic evening's football in the Cannock and Hednesford 6 a side league this week, with all teams in attendance for their matches as scheduled.
Two standouts were the debutant teams who joined us, having mixed fortunes but both enjoying their first matches. Jimmy Sevilla FC came into the Premier Division and started on the right foot as they beat the established Nutmeg City by a convincing 3-0 scoreline. Elsewhere Golden Oldies played a competitive match against Shady FC in Division Two, losing 3-1 but giving a good account of themselves for a league debut.
In the Premier League, Athletic Bilswan and Banglasesh FC locked horns in a thrilling encounter that ended in a 2-2 draw. The top scorers of the division were on fire, with Exeter Gentley securing an impressive 7-0 victory over Donk II. Their dominant display earned them a well-deserved spot at the top of the goal-scoring charts.
Division 1 witnessed equally exciting clashes, including a standout performance from Champagne Super Rovers, who triumphed over Demba 9 Ba with a 3-1 victory, two very late goals sealing the win for Champagne in a game that looked destined for a draw. Elsewhere Shameless 6 claimed a third win of the campaign as they edged past Double Pogba and Coke 2-1.
In Division 2, HSTIKKYTOKKY put up a valiant fight, securing a 2-1 victory against Baldeaux in a fiercely contested match. Toby Minton FC displayed their attacking prowess with a 3-1 win over MABLE'S SPARTANS, while Hat Tricks For The Fat Chicks fought hard and secured a well-fought 1-1 draw against The Winding Wheel FC.
Division 3 saw 6Men1Cup claim an impressive 3-1 victory over DCF United, while UnAthletico Madrid emerged triumphant with a convincing 3-0 win against Expected Toulouse. Strongbow Unathletic also displayed their strength with a 3-1 victory over Haven't Got One Yet. Limes FC cruised to a 4-0 win thanks to four goals from Liam Jones who was on fire in front of goal, much to the dismay of opponents Newolvabora.
Finally, in Division 4, Cannock Town United FC delivered a commanding performance, securing an astonishing 8-0 win over FIVE WAYS. Hednesford City emerged victorious with a close 2-1 win against Wyld Stallyns, while Lotto Juniors showcased their prowess with a thrilling 4-3 victory over Netsix N Chill.
