It was a good evening's football in the Cannock Wednesday 6 a side league this week which saw all teams in attendance throughout the night as scheduled, and some excellent matches on display across all six divisions once again!
We were pleased to welcome new team Who Ate All Depays to the league this week, they had a tough opening game against an experienced Strongbow Unathletic, but will be looking to build on their first game as they get used to the league.
We are delighted to welcome another two new teams to the league starting Wednesday 24th November! We wish Allison Wonderland the best of luck going into their first fixture in Division Two as they face up against 6 Lovely Guys From Penkridge.
Murder on Zidane's Floor and Nutmeg City played out a thriller in the Premier Division this week, neither could be separated in a 10 goal thriller which ended 5-5. Exeter Gently remain top of the table after they were also involved in a superb encounter against Athletic Bilswan, the game ending 3-2 to Exeter.
Banglasesh went to the top of the Division One table as they breezed past Limes FC by a 4-0 scoreline, they go to the summit by a point after Ideal FC drew 2-2 with Baldeaux in an entertaining game. Third placed Oriental Delight stay a point off the top two as they were 4-2 winners against Pye Green Massive, whilst Mables Spartans and Traff FC shared the spoils with a 1-1 draw.
Shameless 6 further cemented their place in the top two this week, as they ran out 2-0 winners over third placed Newstead FS, they now sit three points clear of this weeks opponents as they chase down a place in Division One. Fourth placed Strongbow Unathletic showed no mercy on new team Who Ate All Depays, crushing them by an 8-1 scoreline.
Division Three leaders Decorer FC came from a goal behind against new team Teenage Mutant Ninja Skrtels to run out eventual 4-1 winners, a result which doesn't tell the story of the game though as they were made to work for the win, two late goals making the game look more comfortable than it perhaps was, whilst third placed Leavemyarselona were 3-0 winners over HStikkyTokky.
Limes FC continue their dominance in Division Four as they thrashed bottom of the table Fiveways 6-1, whilst second placed Cesc Pistols lost further ground on the leaders, following up last weeks defeat with a 4-4 draw against Sevilla Lacatalent meaning they are now three points off the top. Neither Newolvabora nor Wyld Stallyns could close the gap on second place though as both played out a stalemate keeping them both two points off second in the promotion hunt. Inter Yanan moved three points clear of the drop zone with a 2-0 victory against Joao Talkin' To Me.
Capri Sun have been in fine goal scoring form this season in Division Five, but not so this week, as a late goal against Cross Bar-Celona was enough to see them nick a 1-0 win as they look to close in on promotion. Poonting keep the pressure on the leaders though and remain 2 points behind with a 3-0 win against TileRite Terriers, whilst third placed Ball of Duty remain in the hunt following their 1-0 win against Haven't Got One Yet. Bayern Bru played their second game with us this week and were involved in an entertaining encounter against The Pitmen, losing 3-2 as Pitmen continue to improve.
