It was an excellent evening's action in the Cannock Wednesday 6 a side league this week, with all teams in attendance throughout the night as scheduled, the only exception being Romasexuals who will be contacted accordingly, and if they fail to respond will be replaced.
A huge result in the Premier Division saw Exeter Gently draw level on points with leaders Nutmeg City, whom they convincingly beat 4-1, they now trail the leaders by just three goals scored in what promises to be an exciting climax to the season! Third placed Cat Zouma were shocked by Banglasesh FC who romped to a 6-2 victory this week, whilst Mable's Spartans claimed a big result in their quest for survival as they beat fellow relegation candidates Shoal Hill Tavern 2-0 to drop them to the foot of the table. Ideal FC slipped into the drop zone at the wrong time of the season, as they were beaten 5-2 by Athletic Bilswan.
Oriental Delight knocked Shameless 6 out of the top two this week as they hammered their opponents 7-3, but a massive game takes place next week as Shameless and Newstead, both tied on points meet in the penultimate game of the campaign. New team Elms looked a useful addition to the league as they shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw with 5-Ways FC this week in a well competed game. Elsewhere Blewitt FC appear to have secured survival after running out 3-1 winners over second bottom Baldeaux to move four points clear of their opponents with as many points to play for.
Traff FC won an entertaining encounter in the top v bottom clash in Division Two, eventually running out 3-2 winners as they sit just a point away from promotion. Second placed SMC FC won a tight game against Cesc Pistols to win 2-1, whilst third placed Inter Yanan won by the same scoreline against Leavemyarsealona to keep the pressure on the team directly above them who they remain a point behind. Elsewhere, Strongbow look to have secured survival after moving four points clear of the drop zone, beating second bottom Huntington FC 3-0.
Demba 9 Ba secured promotion with 2 games to spare this week, making it a joyless June for Double Pogba and Coke who they thrashed 6-1 this week, Pogba having only picked up a single point this month as it looks to be a season of mid-table obscurity for them. Wyld Stallyns convincing 4-0 win over Fiveways sees them stay in second place, whilst Sevilla Lacatalent won a high energy game against Limes by an 8-4 scoreline, three late goals making the game look more one sided than it was, as they keep the pressure on second. Newolvabora kept alive what slim chance of promotion they have as they were 4-0 winners over Cross Bar-celona this week, although they would need a minor miracle to take the second promotion space at this stage of the season.
Pique Blinders went back to the top of Division Four this week as they knocked HStikkytokky off their perch by beating them 3-0. Ooff FC couldn't capitalise on this though and slip to third after suffering a surprise 5-3 reverse to 6 Men 1 Cup who's recent form has seen them win 4 of their last 5 games, drawing the other. Fourth placed Ball of Duty still have an outside chance of promotion as they were 2-1 winners over Deportivo La Cannock this week, whilst Haven't Got One Yet got a second win on the bounce this week as they made short work of The Pitmen, running out 6-1 winners in a good performance.
