Wednesday 31st July - Cannock and Hednesford Round-Up

It was a good evening's football in the Cannock and Hednesford Wednesday 6 a side league this week, as all teams attended their matches barring a cancellation from Barmy Army who we look forward to seeing return next week.

On a positive note, we welcome new team Funny Innit to the league on Wednesday 7th August, wishing them good luck going into their debut game in Division Two.

In the Premier League, the stand-out result was the captivating clash between Jimmy Sevilla FC and Exeter Gently, with the latter emerging victorious with a 2-1 win. Borrussia Teeth also triumphed over Romasexuals in a tight 2-1 victory, whereas Donk II managed to edge out IDEAL FC 2-1. The highest-scoring game of the night was ORIENTAL DELIGHT'S 4-2 win over Banglasesh FC.

Moving to Division 1, Newstead FC produced a commanding performance to rout Wheely Bad Fc 5-0. Meanwhile, Clarence F.C. eked out a 1-0 victory over TomBolas FC. NUTMEG CITY were involved in a nine-goal thriller, eventually overcoming Albert Sloshers 6-3. Murder On Zidane's Floor also edged out MABLE'S SPARTANS 2-1 in a hotly contested battle.

Division 2's highlight was FC G&T's stunning 7-2 victory over Baldeaux. Toby Minton FC and DOUBLE POGBA AND COKE served up a seven-goal thriller, with the latter snatching a 4-3 win. Shameless 6! blanked Stonnall FC 2-0 in another of the night's games.

On to Division 3, where Bilbao Baggins snatched a narrow 2-1 win over Norton Wanderers. Barely Athletic triumphed 3-0 over Limes FC 2, and Real Sociopaths played out an entertaining 4-4 draw with Strongbow Unathletic.

Lastly, in Division 4, GERIHATRICKS romped to an 8-0 victory over Wyld Stallyns, while Hotel Thiago emerged as 1-0 victors against CrossBarcelona. In an exciting clash, Cancel It FC managed to edge out FIVE WAYS 3-2. The last game of the division saw Demba 9 Ba secure a narrow 3-2 win over Haven't Got One Yet.
