It was a good evening's football in the Cannock and Hednesford Wednesday 6 a side league this week, which saw all teams in attendance throughout the night across all divisions as scheduled, and some superb matches played.
Unfortunately we had to cancel one game in each timeslot this week due to pitch issues at 5's Pavilion. We expect to be back to normal on Wednesday 13th March and apologise to the teams affected for any inconvenience caused, and thank them for their patience and understanding.
In the Premier League division, Toby Minton FC narrowly edged out Newstead FC in a thrilling 3-2 victory. Donk II and Athletic Bilswan played out a goalless draw displaying a strong defensive game. Oriental Delight and One Pitch One Love shared the spoils with a 2-2 draw, while Exeter Gentley emerged victorious in a fiercely contested 6-5 win against Jimmy Sevilla FC.
Division 1 had its share of adrenaline too. Borrussia Teeth squeezed a close 3-2 win against Double Pogba and Coke, while Heath Haze and Clarence F.C. ended their encounter in a 1-1 draw. Shameless 6! and Ideal FC also shared points in another 1-1 draw. Match of the division, however, was a tightly fought one between Romasexuals and Nutmeg City, with the latter bagging a 3-2 victory.
In Division 2, Demba 9 Ba was defeated 5-0 by Webblikesfattys in a one-sided affair. Meanwhile, Baldeaux claimed a close 3-2 triumph over TomBolas FC, and Mable's Spartans and Barmy Army concluded their game in a goalless draw.
Strongbow Unathletic were outplayed in Division 3 by Real Sociopaths, who put up an impressive show to register a 7-3 win.
Finally, in Division 4, Five Ways triumphed over Cancel It FC, 4-1, while Wheely Bad FC pulled off a 5-3 win against Limes FC 2. The final match of the division saw Norton Wanderers defeat FC G&T 2-0.
