It was another fantastic evening's football this week in the Cannock Wednesday 6 a side league, with all teams in attendance for their matches as scheduled, barring Decorer FC in Division One, they have now been removed with immediate effect.
Top of the table Exeter Gently looked in cruise control this week as they romped to an 8-1 win over 5-Ways FC, extending their lead to four points over second placed Nutmeg City who suffered a 2-1 reverse against Athletic Bilswan. Banglasesh FC and Ideal FC could not be separated this week as the two played out a goalless draw to remain in fifth and sixth place respectively.
Oriental Delight won a 9 goal thriller against Pye Green Massive this week as they ran out 5-4 winners, whilst Mables Spartans remain a point off the leaders and in second place as they were comfortable 3-0 winners against Strongbow Unathletic. Newstead FC stay in third place but are four points off the promotion spaces still, they were 3-1 winners against Shameless 6 this week.
Vic FC went to the summit of Division Two this week as they were 3-0 winners against Limes 2, whilst Baldeaux dropped to second place after a hefty 6-1 defeat to SMC FC. Mid-table Leavemyarsealona were 3-2 winners against Wyld Stallyns who look as though they have a tough ask to stay up now, sitting five points from safety.
Inter Yanan all but confirmed they will be playing in a higher division next season after they won the battle of the top two against Sevilla Lacatalent, an entertaining game that ended 5-3 to Inter who now sit six points clear with a superior goal difference with only four games to play! Cesc Pistols got back to winning ways this week with a 3-1 triumph over Fiveways, putting them firmly back in the race for second place as they went level with Sevilla.
Newolvabora thought they'd grabbed a late win in a thriller against Mick Bustins Boys, scoring a third goal with just 90 seconds to play, but Mick Bustin's stuck to the task and went straight down the other end to equalise, in a superb game that ended 3-3. Ball of Duty moved clear of the relegation spots as they were 4-2 winners over second bottom Demba 9 Ba who they moved five points clear of.
Division Four leaders Capri Sun are nearly over the line for promotion after beating third placed (before kick off) Cross Bar-celona by a convincing 5-2 score line, dropping their opponents to fourth place. Gangsters Allardyce look good value for the second promotion spot after a 6-0 thrashing of FC Borussia Teeth, whilst HStikkytokky moved into third place and have an outside chance of promotion after a 3-3 draw with Haven't Got One Yet. Finally, special mention goes to Deportivo La Cannock who picked up their first win since joining the league! They did so in style as they ran out 3-0 winners over The Pitmen!
