Another excellent evening in the Cannock Wednesday 6aside league held at 5`s Pavilion & Sports Ground with all teams in attendance and everything running smoothly.
AFC Heath Hayes and FC Crescent continue to head the premier division as Heath Hayes recorded a fine 6-2 victory over The Ideal Standard whilst Crescent were gaining themselves an emphatic 9-2 victory over Teachings of Jon. They are both locked on 7 points at the top but remain unbeaten in the league so far this season.
Nutmeg City moved to the top of division one as they gained a relatively easy 6-0 victory over Up The Chase this week. Last week`s leaders We`re Gonna Lose fell to their first defeat this season as Tower FC gained a 3-1 victory and joined their opponents on 6 points in the league, just a point of top spot.
Strongbow Unathletic extended their 100% record in division two but were made to fight all the way by Tap Tap, eventually recording a 2-1 victory to remain top of the division. The Barns FC remain their nearest challengers as they were gifted a 5-0 victory this week and stay unbeaten.
Division three saw Misfitz maintain their 1 point lead at the top but were lucky to get away with a 2-1 victory over bottom side Mable`s Spartans as they gave an excellent account of themselves this week. The Jazz Shack remain unbeaten but dropped a point this week to fall behind the leaders as they were held to a 2-2 scoreline by Trafalgar FC.
Five Ways lost their 100% record start to the season but remain unbeaten as they were held to a 2-2 draw by Wyld Stallyns in an entertaining match which could have gone either way. Lads United moved in to the runners up position on the back of their 6-2 victory over 6 Yard Club.
This league is currently full but we are always looking for new teams in the area. If you are interested in joining this or any of our other leagues in the area please enter your team details online and we will be in contact.
