The Soccer Saturday team were in fine form this week and the talking points were whether Andy's Diamondz could complete a double invincible season. The Diamondz captain offered a little arrogance in his response saying, "We are writing history, and giving the fans what they want, an exciting brand of football that will lead to glory once again".
This statement seemed to fire up the opposition this week as Farmers Weekly almost took the shine of the Diamondz with a stunning performance however they could only manage a draw.
HFC left it late against a Yarcombe side that seemed to show a bit of fight on a tough evening of football, Yarcombe caught HFC out on a well worked counter attack to get the scores level only to then concede a quick fire brace to eventually lose the match 3-1.
The Roys who found themselves 1-0 up early doors with a fine finish from Roy-Naldo were also victims of a poor back line and conceded right after the kick off. Uplyme & Sinker have found some additional talent in their side from none other than our league owner Stuart who certainly knows his way around a football pitch despite only having one foot! For anyone wandering, he does physically have 2 feet however the use of his right on a football pitch has never really worked for him. Even with the right footless master on their team Uplyme eased to victory and continue their rise up the table.
In the nights other game The Vikings found themselves on the losing side and were noticeably out of sorts and struggling to get any grip on the game. NYC capitalised on this and being led by their midfield maestro they grabbed a comfortable 5-3 victory.
Well done to all involved and see you next week.
