New Gosport Wednesday 6 a side news season kicks off

In a thrilling start to this year’s Gosport Wednesday 6-a-side Football League, there were goals aplenty as teams in the Premier League, Division 1 and Division 2 launched their respective campaigns.

PREMIER LEAGUE

The Premier League kicked off with a close battle between Titchfield FC and reigning champions Baines on Toast, with Titchfield emerging victorious with a 4-3 win. However, the player who stole the limelight was Harry Draper from Baines on Toast who netted a brace.

In another compelling match, The Gentlemen overpowered Lucky 7, recording a 10-2 victory. Meanwhile, The Villagers also started their season on a high note, overcoming Murder On Zidanes Floor with a 5-3 win.

DIVISION ONE

In Division 1, standout performances were seen from Alfy Lewis from Reform AFC, who recorded a total of four goals, marking him as the top scorer in the division. His performance helped Reform AFC to a 4-2 victory over Chairman Supernova. Elsewhere in Division 1, The Backstreet Moyes triumphed over the Brune Parkians 7-4 while Fish Fingers FC secured a 3-1 win against Jewventus.

DIVISION TWO

The energy was equally charged in Division 2. The division's top scorer, Hayden Darcy from Snatit FC, scored an impressive five goals leading his team to a 7-1 victory against Queens Park Strangers. The Bowen Arrows also had a strong start to the season with a 6-1 win over Spitroast FC and Suck Umtities outplayed Bayern Neverlosen with a 7-3 victory.

The first week of the Gosport Wednesday 6-a-side Football League has shown promise of an exciting season ahead as teams in all divisions came out strong, setting the stage for an action-packed season.
