RichTea cause upset at Calne six a side

It was crucial night on Tuesday in the Leisure Leagues Calne Tuesday six a side from Beversbrook Sports Facility. In what is proving to be one of the most competitive and compelling leagues around we still have a three horse race for the title. However, in a game that could prove decisive The Rushes fell short against RichTeaWellens to drop back behind the other two teams who both managed wins.

In the first game TMT went into a crucial game against Netsix and Chill knowing only a win was good enough to keep alive their hopes of claiming the title. It was a close game with both teams creating very little in the way of chances. Ollie grabbed the only goal of the game for TMT to ensure they stay just one point behind Fitness Box.

While TMT were struggling to get past Netsix and Chill, Fitness Box were having no such issues against Dads Dream Team Reborn. The final score was an mightily impressive 7-1. Pratt and Davin got braces, while there was a single goal for Rory, Bradley and Richards. Not only does the win keep them at the top of the table but more importantly, the manner of the victory gives Fitness a healthy advantage over the others in terms of goals scored as well.

Game 3 was probably the game of the night. The Rushes have been so impressive this season at churning out victories even when they haven’t played their best football. However, their luck finally ran out up against RichTea who it has to be said were magnificent. They were well worth their 2-0 victory with both goals coming from Josh Graham. The Rushes are far from out of the title race but this defeat represents a huge blow to their chances.

Finally it was left to FC Calne Vets to secure another victory in their impressive debut season against Holo FC. Stuart Ballinger grabbed 2 while Ben Staples got the third. They guys are currently tied with RichTeaWellens to be best of the rest and will no doubt want to secure that accolade as they head towards a title challenge in season 2.
