Three way fight at top of Beversbrook six a side league

The new season got back underway on Tuesday in the Leisure Leagues Calne Tuesday six a side from Beversbrook Sports Facility. After only two games the league table is staring to have a familiar feel to it with Fitness Box, TMT and The Rushes all occupying the top three positions in the league. At the other end of the table Holo, RichTea and Dads Dream Team Reborn are yet to get off the mark.

In the first games of the night the two favourites for the league got things underway as TMT and last seasons champions Fitness Box FC took on Netsix and Chill and Dads Dream Team respectively. Both games were dominated by the favourites. TMT scores 3 without reply while Fitness Box scored five also without reply. Of the two performances Fitness Box’s was perhaps the more impressive. Last season Dads finished second and so to be completely outplayed just showed how the standards have been raised by Fitness Box this season. TMT are just about keeping pace but we will have to wait for the crunch match between the two sides to see who will walk away with the league title.

The only other team to have a 100% record so far this season is The Rushes. They came through a potentially tricky game against RochTeaWellens in emphatic style beating them 5-1. It was clear from watching this game that Stu’s men mean business this season. The guys in yellow are keen to sustain their title challenge for the whole season after falling away in the final games of last season. For RichTeaWellens its a disappointing start to the season. They wanted to improve on last season but if anything their performances are even further away from their ultimate potential. Hopefully they can come back and regain the spark that makes them such an asset to the league.

The final game was another great match up between FC Calne Vets and Holo FC. It was a thoroughly entertaining game which FC Calne Vets eventually won 3-2. Both teams created plenty of chances in what was a free flowing game. FC Calne Vets eventually edged the game with some excellent attacking play which underlined how familiar the guys are with each other’s game. The win gets FC Calne Vets off the mark and they not sit mid table. For Holo on the other hand, it promises to be another long and difficult season.

That game concluded the nights action. The campaign promises to be more action packed than ever. If you would like to join the league we are offering free entry for the whole month of January. As things stand the league is currently full, however, by joining the waiting list you can put yourself in prime position to join one of the most in demand leagues in North Wiltshire if and when a space becomes available.
