Thrilling scenes unfolded last night at the Bicester Wednesday 5-a-side Football league as the final week of the season culminated in a true spectacle. The Premier League division witnessed some riveting matches, matching skill against skill and mettle against mettle.
PREMIER LEAGUE
A high-octane duel between Pickled Patch and Ashton Villa FC resulted in a 4-4 draw, leaving us on the edge of our seats. Not far behind, RNO FC showcased their dominance with an 8-2 victory over Astro Snappers, a testament to their supreme form this season.
In another nail-biting showdown, Finnemores Under 8s eked out a victory against Flying Without Ings with a 4-3 scoreline, demonstrating their ability to handle pressure when it matters the most. However, the night truly belonged to Elmsbrook Utd, who delivered an absolute masterclass with a 13-1 victory over Bog Standard Liege.
Significantly, Elmsbrook Utd's George Austin was named the Most Valued Player of the week, cementing his status as one of the standout performers in the division. His contribution to the team has been instrumental in their success this season.
The final standings saw Ashton Villa FC clinch the Premier League division with a total of 21 points and 10 wins. Their consistent performances throughout the season have made them worthy champions.
Hamza of Elmsbrook took home the Golden Boot with 34 goals this season while Jacob Adams was the leagues Player Of The Season with 7 MVP awards this season.
With the conclusion of this season, the teams will now look ahead and prepare for the next challenge. But for now, it's time to celebrate the skill, hard work and commitment shown by all teams.
A huge thank you to Ben for running the evening each week and a thank you to all our captains and players. We look forward to the next season which starts on Wednesday 5th March as we move to two divisions.
