In a sensational display of football, last night marked the culmination of Week 2 of the Bicester Wednesday 5-a-side league. The competition featured the Premier League and Division 1, where teams displayed a fervent display of skill and tactics to secure their standings in the league.
PREMIER LEAGUE
In the Premier League division, the game between Elmsbrook Utd and Flying Without Ings ended with a nail-biting scoreline of 7-5 in favour of Flying Without Ings. RNO FC couldn't quite match up to the intensity of Men Behaving Chadli, succumbing to a 6-2 defeat. The individual performance of the night, however, was owned by Sean Dineen of Elmsbrook Utd who made his mark by scoring an impressive total of 4 goals, emerging as the top scorer in the Premier League division.
DIVISION ONE
Over to Division 1, Astro Snappers dominated the field against Pablo Hit-the-bar with a staggering victory of 13-2, showcasing their prowess in the sport. In another match-up, Pickled Patch outshone Bog Standard Liege with a scoreline of 5-2. The highlight in this division was Taylan Gardner of Astro Snappers who stood tall as the top scorer in Division 1, with a remarkable tally of 5 goals.
The star player of the week was undoubtedly Cieran Newton from the team Flying Without Ings. His exceptional performance on the field was instrumental to his team's victory, earning him the title of the most valued player for this week's matches. It’ll be fascinating to see if these players can maintain their form or if new stars will rise in the weeks to come. This season is proving to be a thrilling watch for all football enthusiasts. Stay tuned for more updates from the Bicester Wednesday League.
